Clint and I headed towards the sea of first responders. I could see Kate sitting down at one of the ambulances.
She saw me and her face lit up she shrugged off the blanket which was sitting on her shoulders and took of running towards me.
She engulfed me in a hug, I let out a grunt and Kate immediately apologised.
"Shit I'm so sorry" Kate apologised loosening her grip on me.
"No, no it's ok" I sighed wrapping my arms around her neck.
She chuckled burying her face into my neck.
"I'm so glad you're ok" She said.
"I promised didn't I" I replied.
She pulled away and that's when I noticed the new marks on her face.
"What happened?" I asked my fingers brushing across her face.
"Kingpin" She replied.
"Holy shit" I said.
"Don't worry I'm ok it's you that needs to be checked on" Kate chuckled helping me towards an ambulance.
"Trust me I'm fine it doesn't hurt as bad anymore" I protested.
Kate ignored me shaking her head lightly as I sat down on the edge of the ambulance. I quickly got checked out apparently being the daughter of Hawkeye put me at top priority.
Thankfully nothing was broken and I wasn't too badly injured just some bruising.
"I told you I was fine" I said.
Kate shook her head sitting down besides me her finger lacing with mine.
"My mom got arrested" Kate said.
"Oh shit" I sighed.
"It's ok" Kate shrugged.
"You can stay with us" Clint assured her.
"Thank you, seriously thank you" Kate said.
Clint nodded moving to lean against the side of the ambulance.
"I'm proud of you, both of you" Clint said.
A smile spread across her face, I gave Kate's hand a small squeeze.
"I really liked having a team behind me" Clint said.
"There boom you said it we're a team" Kate said excitedly.
Clint laughed and shook his head.
"We are great a great team" I said.
Kate nodded and placed her head on my shoulder. Clint nodded walking off giving Kate and I some space.
"I definitely prefer our last visit to Rockefeller square over this one" I chuckled.
"Agreed" Kate chuckled.
I looked down at our hands intertwined and I couldn't help but smile.
"I cant believe you took down kingpin by yourself" I said in amazement.
"Well my mum did sort of run him over but ya know" Kate laughed.
"Still impressive" I said.
"What about Yelena?" Kate asked.
"She's alright, we talked to her she's still grieving but at least she isn't trying to murder my dad" I chuckled.
"Wonder what she'll be up to now?" Kate thought to herself.
"She's hopefully having a good time and exploring New York" I chuckled.
Kate smiled and nodded in agreement before lifting her head up to look at me.
"I was really worried about you" Kate sighed the conversation changing tone.
"Me too, I really don't want to lose you" I replied.
Kate offered me a weak smile and rested her forehead against mine.
"You won't lose me" I whispered.
"Good" Kate chuckled.
I smiled reaching up and cupping her cheek, my thumb grazing over one of the cuts on her cheek.
"But you taking down kingpin I am very impressed" I smirked.
Kate rolled her eyes at me despite the grin on her face.
"Although I'd let you beat me up anytime" I teased only half joking.
"Shut up" Kate snickered.
"Make me" I whispered.
Kate chuckled pressing her lips against mine, I let out a sigh of content. Nothing mattered in this moment, nothing. Not kingpin, not Eleanor not the mafia nothing. Nothing except her. She plagued my mind and I let her.
She pulled away my lips tingling.
"Be my girlfriend" Kate said.
I was taken back slightly.
"Unless-"
I quickly shut her up.
"Yes" I said.
A smile grew on her face and a chuckle escaping her lips.
"Really?" She said sounding surprised.
"Yes you idiot now kiss me" I laughed.
Kate chuckled crashing her lips against mine, she draped her arms across my neck a smile on her face. After a few seconds we both pulled away huge grins on both of our faces.
"We should probably get going, I'm sure Clint is waiting for us" I chuckled.
I saw Kate pout.
"Aw don't you worry baby we have all the time in the world" I chuckled.
She smiled standing up helping me up with her, her hand interlocking with mine. Clint was standing against the wall looking down at his phone.
"You think we can still make it home for Christmas?" I asked.
Clint rolled his sleeve up looking down at his watch.
"I think we can make it" Clint chuckled.
