Kate took the key out of her pocket unlocking the large doors of her mother's penthouse apartment. The doors swung open to reveal a gorgeous foyer.
"Holy shit I knew your rich but I didn't know you were like rich rich" I said my jaw practically on the jaw.
Kate laughed and tossed her coat across the table. She headed into the dining room. I glanced up to see a golden chandelier hanging from the high ceiling.
"Damn" Clint said in awe as he took in the large penthouse.
The dining room held many of Kate's awards along with a sword held in a glass case. The glass was shiny and I could see my reflection in it crystal clear.
"I'm nearly done" She said typing away on the computer.
I walked over and stood behind her watching her work. She cleared her throat and looked over her shoulder biting her lip slightly as she grazed her eyes up and down me.
My breath hitched slightly in my throat and she smirked slightly before turning her attention back to the laptop infront if her.
"Check up on Kazi too" I told her.
Kate nodded and followed my instructions typing the man's full name into the search bar.
"It seems like he has a job" Kate said.
"Might be a front" I said.
Kate went to switch tabs back to look at Jack's file but the computer locked out. A box popping up in the center of the screen saying there was a security breach.
"Shit" Kate muttered she stepped away from the computer placing her hands on her hips.
We were interrupted when we heard shouting come from the other room. Kate and I looked at eachother in suprise but also a tad of fear before running towards the noise.
Jack had Clint in a headlock holding the sword to his throat. Wait it was Ronin's sword. I could tell Clint knew it to as he looked down at his own sword, the blade centimeters away from his neck.
"Woah Jack" Kate shouted out.
Kate's mom ran out from another room too startled at the noise. Jack saw Kate and dropped the sword retracting the blade into itself.
"What's going on here?" Kate's mom shouted.
"Why is there two Avengers in my house?" Jack asked.
Clint moved away from Jack most likely terrified that he would pull the sword on him again.
"Well uh, Clint, Y/n and I are working on a case and we needed the bathroom so we stopped here" Kate lied.
Kate's mom invited us in and we sat down around the dining table, Jack and Eleanor sat infront of us. It felt like an interrogation.
"So you're working a case with these two?" Eleanor asked her eyes flicking between Clint and I.
Kate smiled and leaned back in her chair.
"Yeah we're a team" She said.
Out of the corner of my eye I could see Clint shake his head.
"Not exactly a team" He said.
"Well more like friends" Kate replied looking over me to see Clint.
Clint shook his head and I rolled my eyes at him.
"Yeah friends" I said and Kate gave me a soft smile.
"I think we work well together because I'm chill I'm not like "Omg Hawkeye!" Kate said.
I bit back laugh remembering what it was like the first time we met and how 'omg Hawkeye' was exactly her reaction to seeing Clint's face.
"Definitely not chill" Clint said.
Eleanor raised a brow at Clint.
"Thank you two for saving the world" Jack said.
Clint and I gave awkward smiles at the man.
"Don't mention it" Clint said.
We got up to leave and Kate stayed behind to talk further with her mom and Jack.
"We'll see you back at the apartment" I said.
Kate gave me a smile and nodded. Eleanor walked with us to the elevator.
"How many kids do you have other than Y/n?" Eleanor asked.
"Three" Clint answered confused.
"Since your a father you'll understand, you need to be careful with Kate she's not a superhero like you two" Eleanor said.
"We're protecting her" I said.
"And we're pretty good at what we do" Clint said.
"Natasha Romanoff was also pretty good at what she did" Eleanor spoke.
My eyes widened at what she just said. I wanted to smack that bitch across the face for what she had said. I clenched my jaw and stepped into the elevator.
I glanced over at Clint who was also fuming, if this were a cartoon we'd both have steam coming out of our ears.
The elevator doors closed infront of us.
"Fuck her" I muttered.
"Good thing I took the sword" Clint said.
I looked over to see Clint open up his jacket revealing the sword concealed.
"Nice" I chuckled.
I was glad that visit wasn't a complete waste of our time.
The elevator doors opened and we headed outside, giving a nod of thanks to the doorman before stepping out onto the street.
We started heading towards the apartment and Clint pulled out his phone.
"Who are you calling?" I asked.
"Your mom" He replied.
We walked and sat down on a quiet park bench. Clint dialed Laura and put her on speaker holding the phone between us.
"Hey" Laura answered the phone in a chirpy tone.
"Hey honey" Clint replied, he smiled as he heard her voice.
"Hey mom" I said.
"Oh hey you two what's up?" She asked.
"Do you have the information on Sloan enterprises?" Clint asked.
"Uh yeah hold on" Laura replied.
There was a slight pause before Laura spoke.
"It says that Jack Deusqane is the CEO" She said.
My jaw dropped and I looked over to Clint who had the same reaction as I did. First he has the sword and now it seems as though he runs the same company which is money laundering for the tracksuit mafia.
What the fuck.
