The video ended and all four of us were left dumbfounded. It turns out Eleanor has been in kahoots with kingpin to pay off a debt, a debt Kate's father had created before he passed. A life lost in the battle of New York.
"So she's sent a hit after you because we've gotten involved" I said.
"But out of everyone why Yelena?" Clint asked.
"Maybe telling her that you killed her sister was a good way to get her back in business again, the red room has been shut down for years" I said.
"And Yelena took down the red room alongside Nat, she wouldn't want to go back to killing" Clint sighed.
"She would if she got the opportunity to kill her sisters murderer, someone's had to have lied to her" Kate said.
Clint nodded in agreement and glanced back down at the phone.
"There's a Christmas party tonight, my mum's work party. That would be our best chance to confront her, who knows Yelena might even show up" I said.
"That sounds like a plan" Clint agreed.
Kate abruptly stood up excusing herself from the table taking her phone with her.
"This whole situation is so messy, I don't think we'll be able to make it back for Christmas" Clint said.
"We'll make it back" I assured him.
After a few minutes I excused myself following Kate out to the balcony. Her arms were crossed over the barrier, she looked out over the city.
"Hey" I said.
Kate turned her head around to look at me offering me a tight smile one which I could tell was forced.
I shut the door behind me and stood next to Kate, our elbows touching.
"I can't believe my mum's in the mafia" Kate sighed fiddling with her fingers.
"It doesn't sound like she wanted to be" I said.
"I know, she sent a hit out on Clint and killed on Armand. She framed Jack, I really thought I could trust her" Kate said, her voice cracking.
I didn't exactly know what to say, what do you say to someone who's mom is a murder, in the mafia and also is sending a hit out on your own father.
"I never thought she'd be capable of any of this" Kate sighed, her eyes watering.
"People always find ways to surprise you, sometimes in ways not so good" I said.
"I have no where to go, my apartment is gone and after this my mom will be arrested or gone either way I can't go back home" Kate said tears rolling down her cheeks.
"Kate whatever happens with your mom, you'll always have a place to stay. You can come home with us if you need to, we aren't just going to leave you here" I promised.
Kate smiled slightly and rested her head on my shoulders.
"Thank you" Kate sighed out in relief.
"Don't mention it" I replied.
"This whole thing is so complicated, I wish things could be normal but then again if this was all normal I wouldn't have met Clint or more importantly you" Kate said.
"I'm more important to you than your childhood hero?" I asked slightly shocked.
"Well yeah when I think about it you are" Kate said.
"I guess everything has a silver lining" I said draping my arm over her shoulder.
"Yeah I'm really glad I met you even if this situation is absolute shit and we might die" Kate chuckled slightly.
I chuckled and rested my head on top of hers. It was cold outside but neither of us minded the temperature.
"We'll have to find something good to wear to the party" Kate said.
"You should wear that black suit again" I smirked.
"Like what you saw huh?" Kate chuckled.
"Oh baby you have no idea" I chuckled.
Kate smirked letting out a small laugh.
"We'll also need to make some new arrows" I said.
Kate pulled away and she had the classic 'kid in a candy store' look.
"I thought you couldn't make new arrows?" Kate said in shock.
"Of course" I replied.
"Clint said you couldn't" Kaye said.
"It's just difficult but we can make more" I told her.
"Oh I can't wait to make more, I've never gotten to make my own before" Kate said excitedly her face lighting up.
"We'll teach you" I said.
"Oh I can't wait" Kate said clapping her hands together.
"Keep it in your pants Bishop" I teased.
Kate laughed swatting my chest which I grabbed feigning pain.
"Shut up I'm just excited" Kate said.
"I know and it's adorable" I chuckled.
Kate smiled pressing a quick kiss on my lips.
"We should probably head inside now" Kate said.
I nodded and gestured for her to head inside first. I sighed in relief as soon as I stepped inside the apartment, the temperature feeling much warmer than outside.
"Hey you're back" Clint said as we walked in the door.
"Yup, ready to go make some arrows because this ones excited" I chuckled pointing at Kate.
Clint chuckled amused.
"Yeah sure I'll just grab my stuff" Clint said heading into the spare room.
Clint came out about a minute after carrying a large duffel bag. He threw it to me and I caught it with a grunt.
"Jeez this is heavy" I said holding it with both hands.
"Got all the parts in there so be careful" Clint said.
"Yeah, yeah I know" I said putting the bag over my shoulder.
"Let's go" Clint said clapping his hands together.
