Part 45

3rd person POV:

Kate looked at her phone with her eyebrows furrowed confused on the reason of the abrupt ending of her phone call with Y/n.

She sighed messaging her girlfriend. She waited for a few minutes before calling again and still nothing.

Something wasn't right and Kate could feel it in her stomach, she knew she shouldn't overreact but the couples situation was different. Y/n was an Avenger. Kate tapped her fingers along the table she was sitting at before walking outside.

"Hey Kate where are you going?" One of her classmates called out.

"Us something came up" Kate said.

The girl nodded continuing her way to class as Kate picked up her pace jogging towards the doors she pushed the doors open taking a deep breath as she called again.

The phone rang for two seconds before shutting off. Kate pulled the phone away from her phone biting her lip anxiously.

She began typing a message to Clint.

I think something has happened to Y/n.

Clint called Kate and she picked up.

"Kate what's happened?" Clint's panicked voice came through the speaker.

"I was on the phone with Y/n and then she kind of paused and then she said she had to go and then just abruptly hung up me she won't call me back or anything, look I know it sounds stupid but she sounded scared ok" Kate said.

That does seem a little weird Kate but I'm-" Clint paused.

"Clint? Clint what's happening?" Kate asked.

"Kate have you heard the news?" Clint said his voice shaking slightly.

"What no?" She said.

"Eleanor has escaped from prison" Clint said.

Kate's jaw dropped and her eyes widened in panic.

"Clint what if she took her?" Kate said worries she began pacing back and forth across the side walk.

"She did escape hours ago apparently so it's possible but I don't know Kate I- I hope not" Clint said.

"Fuck I don't know what to do I keep on texting her and she won't reply" Kate said.

"Shit" Clint cursed into the phone fearing the worst.

"Screw it Kate I'm coming down to New York" Clint said.

Clint hurried upstairs beginning to hurriedly pack a small bag.

"Clint there isn't enough time, if Eleanor does have Y/n who knows what she'll do to her!" Kate shouted.

A few students turned to look at her, she ignored them walking further away towards the subway.

"No it's too dangerous if it is Eleanor ok. I'm heading down but call me if Y/n messages you ok" Clint said.

"Yes" Kate said.

She felt her phone buzz, Kate pulled it away seeing it was a text from an unknown number. Clint called out her name but she ignored it opening up the message. It was a photo of Y/n passed out on the floor of a van.

"Kate what the hell" Clint shouted.

"Y/n's been kidnapped they sent me a message" Kate said.

"Don't do anything stupid or rash Kate" Clint said.

"I won't" Kate said hanging up the phone.

She sucked in a deep breath trying to calm herself down so she didn't cry. Kate practically sprinted home.

She kicked open the door slamming it behind her as she let out a scream. Lucky ran forward to comfort her. She let out chocked sobs as Kate slid down the door onto the floor bringing her knees up to her chest.

She stayed there for hours. Hours, she just sat there staring at the opposite wall she didn't want to get up she didn't know what she would do if she did.

She had no idea where Y/n was and the number was a burner phone so it couldn't be traced. She knew her mother to be too smart to make mistakes if Y/n were to be found it would be because Eleanor would want her to be found.

Lucky licked away her tears and lay down next to her, his head rested against Kate's knees. Lucky didn't know what was happening but he knew it wasn't good.

Kate eventually got up her legs slightly shaking as she made her way to the bed. There was still no word on Y/n's whereabouts but Kate just had to assure herself that Y/n was alive, she had to be because Kate didn't know what to do with herself if it was the latter.

The bed felt empty without Y/n besides her. She sighed extending her hand out to grab Y/n's jumper which was on the bed. Kate sighed pulling it onto herself taking in a deep breath to take in her lovers scent.

Kate stared at the empty spot sobbing until eventually exhaustion took over and she passed out.
