Part 40

I let out a yawn as I stretched my legs out under the duvet. Kate was underneath the duvet curled into my side, her hand resting on top of my chest. I smiled to myself draping my arms over Kate's waist.

I glanced over to the clock which was placed on the bedside table to see it was nearly mid day. I couldn't care less. I was where I needed to be. Kate moved in her sleep curling further into me, her leg swinging over to lay on top of mine.

Sunlight was streaming through the window so I propped up my hand so the light wouldn't wake her. I looked down at her peaceful sleeping figure for a few moments watching her chest rise and fall with each breath.

Eventually her eyes fluttered open she let out a quiet yawn and glanced up at me I smiled down at her groggy state.

"Were you watching me sleep again? Perv" Kate scoffed.

I rolled my eyes and bent down placing a soft kiss on her forehead causing her lips to curl up into a smile.

"We should probably get up know" I chuckled.

"But you're so warm Y/n" Kate said her voice muffled by my chest.

"You have to drop into college today remember" I said.

"Oh shit" Kate groaned.

Kate had to return back to the college for a re enrolment meeting due to the fact that she destroyed a bell tower. The payment had gone through for repairs but apparently there was still 'disciplinary action' to be taken.

"Yeah because you were such a naughty girl" I teased.

"I don't know whether to be annoyed or turned on by that comment" Kate laughed.

I snickered to myself pressing a kiss on her lips.

"C'mon my Robin Hood let's get dressed" I said.

Kate reluctantly slid out of bed throwing clothes over her naked body, much to my despair. She chuckled to herself as she noticed my staring.

Lucky was asleep on the couch and had most likely given up on his attempts to wake us up for food.

"We buddy I'm sorry" I said.

Lucky looked up at me in disappointment at his late breakfast.

"Here you go" I said walking over to his bowl and pouring in some kibble.

He hastily jumped down rushing towards his bowl hunkering over the dish to devour his food.

Kate walked out of the bedroom giving me a smile as she opened up the fridge.

"We better leave soon don't want to be expelled" I joked glancing down at my watch.

"Ok ok" Kate huffed grabbing a slice of pizza.

She quickly gathered her things and stuffed them into her pocket.

"We'll be back soon Lucky and Y/n will take you for a walk" Kate called out to the dog.

"Uh no we both will it was a mutual decision" I said pointing a finger at Kate as I grabbed the car keys.

We headed outside shutting the apartment door behind us heading to the car, to be honest we didn't really need a car in New York but it did come in handy.

I started the engine and began the drive to Kate's college.

"You nervous at all?" I asked.

"We'll yeah pretty nervous" Kate said her thigh bounced up and down.

"Love trust me it'll be ok it was an accident and anyways I'd doubt they'd let you go they'd be stupid to" I said.

"Why because I'm one of the best archers in the world?" Kate asked a sense of pride in her voice.

"Yes you are and I'm not just saying that as your girlfriend" I chuckled.

"Yeah, you're right I won't be expelled everything will be ok" Kate reassured herself.

"That's the spirit" I said.

When we arrived I pulled over into the car park to look at Kate who looked nervous.

"I love you" I said.

A smile spread across Kate's face as she registered the three words which passed my lips.

"I love you too" Kate replied.

She reached over and gave my hand a squeeze. Kate got out of the car and headed inside giving me a quick kiss before leaving. Just as I was about to pull out my phone buzzed in my pocket.

I pulled it out not wanting to text and drive, well not wanting to end up like Dr Strange. I looked down at the message which lit up my Lock Screen.

Heyy Y/n, Yelena here I noticed you and Kate are back in New York and I was wondering if you would like to catch up (:

I chuckled lightly at the fact that a trained assassin used a smiley face at the end of a text and smiled even more when I remembered that's what Nat always did. Even for mission reports there was always a smile.

Sure I'll let Kate know it would be great to see you ya know as long as you don't try to kill my dad again we'll be down

I replied.

You're never going to let that go are you 🙄

Yelena replied causing me to snicker to myself. I sent back a reply before stuffing my phone back into my pocket.

"So sassy" I laughed to myself.
