I rolled over in bed facing Kate who was still awake. It was about 3 in the morning and neither of us could sleep.

"Can't sleep?" Kate asked.

"Nope" I sighed.

I offered her a small smile which she returned before sitting up in bed.

"I'm not even tired" Kate said.

"Neither" I said in agreement.

Kate stood up out of bed and turned on the light walking over to the wardrobe.

"What are you doing?" I asked with a small laugh.

"I have an idea now come on get up" Kate said throwing a jumper at me.

I laughed and slipped the jumper over my shirt and quickly got dressed. I stood up walking over to Kate who was stuffing the apartment keys in her pocket a smile spread across her lightly blushed cheeks.

"Are you going to tell me what we're doing?" I asked with a laugh.

"Nope just follow me" Kate smiled.

I put on my shoes and followed Kate out the door, she looped her arm in mine as we walked down the street. The streets were surprisingly quiet.

"Are we going to break into an ice skating rink again?" I joked.

Kate laughed and shook her head.

"Although that was fun, no?" Kate said.

"It was pretty cool" I said in agreement.

Kate smiled and turned the corner resting her head lightly on my shoulder as we walked. The street lights shone down on us illuminating our path.

Cars drove down the street momentarily breaking the comfortable silence which fell between us with the hum of their engines. I looked up to see clouds covering up the moon. It looked as though it was about to rain.

"Ya know it might rain" I said averting my eyes from the sky.

"We'll survive" Kate chuckled.

Kate unhooked our arms and pointed towards a 24/7 diner at the the end of the street.

"We're nearly there" Kate said excitedly.

I smiled at her enthusiasm.

"I came here all the time during late night studying for college" Kate said.

"Oh I thought you spent late nights shooting down clock towers" I teased.

"Hey that was one time" Kate laughed playfully elbowing me.

I opened the door of the dinner for Kate and she thanked me before reaching her hand out to take mine. I gave her hand a light squeeze.

"Hey Kate haven't seen you in a while" The waiter said.

"Hey Darryl" Kate greeted.

"Got someone with you this time I see" Darryl smirked.

A rosy blush appeared on Kate's cheeks as she smiled.

"Yeah this is my girlfriend Y/n" Kate replied.

I instantly smiled as she called me her girlfriend.

"Hi" I greeted the man offering him a small wave.

"Go take a seat I'll just put these dishes away and be with you in a second" He said.

Kate smiled and walked over to a booth patting the seat next to her for me to follow.

"The amount of nights of studying I've done here is insane" Kate chuckled.

"I've never had to study for college" I said.

"Off doing your little Avenger work" Kate teased.

"Well I was on sabbatical for five years so my life mainly consisted of just training and doing absolutely nothing" I said.

"Did Natasha train you during those years?" Kate asked.

"Yeah we'll I kinda already knew some of that stuff from Clint but then when moved into the compound after the snap Nat trained me. Not to brag but I'm definitely better then her" I joked.

"Settle down" Kate laughed at me rolling her eyes.

"Don't worry I'm kidding no one will ever be as good as her" I said.

Kate offered me a small smile. Darryl walked over handing us each a menu.

"I'll be back in a minute" He said.

"Natasha would've loved you" I said.

"You think so?" Kate asked.

"Of course she would you're amazing" I said.

Kate smiled and placed a soft kiss on my lips. She read over the menu briefly already knowing what to order. Darryl came back over and we both ordered. He gave us a nod and picked up our menus.

"Ya know we haven't ever really been on a proper date" I said.

"No I suppose we haven't" Kate chuckled.

It was true Kate and I had spent so much time together at the farm house that we never actually went out on a proper date.

"So I suppose this our first date then love" Kate smiled.

"I suppose it is" I replied.

Kate smiled warmly. A little while later Darryl brought our food out and we ate talking about whatever came to mind. Kate paid for the meal despite my insisting.

We headed outside the cold weather contrasting to warm it was inside. A shiver ran down my spine and Kate huddled close to me as we walked along the road.

As we were a block away my prediction came true and rain started to pour down. A laugh escaped my lips about how cliche this was.

I shoved my hood off my head feeling the rain hit my head.

"I guess you were right" Kate laughed.

Strands of black hair stuck to her forehead with the rain.

"I guess I was" I said.

I grabbed her waist pulling her into me so our faces were inches apart.

"A kiss in the rain how cliché" Kate chuckled.

Her eyes darted down to my lips.

"We'll I guess I am a romantic" I said watching as Kate licked her lips.

"Just kiss me alre-" Kate said.

I cut her off crashing our lips together as rain dripped on us. My eyes fluttering close as I felt euphoric. Kate's hand moved to my cheeks cupping them gently. The rain started to become heavy but our kiss only deepened. We finally pulled away the rain loud and beating down onto us.

"We should'be brought an umbrella" Kaye laughed.
