I reluctantly agreed to go to Ohio with Yelena so a week after we had drinks we embarked on a 9 hour trip to Ohio. We left ridiculously early and I swear Yelena played American pie about twenty times on the ride down but I knew better than to contest it.

As we drove down the dirt road towards the graveyard I began to feel nervous, maybe this was a bad idea.

"You alright over there?" Yelena asked.

"Yeah yeah I'm fine" I lied shrugging my shoulders.

"Look this will be hard but it'll be worth it ok" Yelena said.

I nodded and got out the car following Yelena as we walked the rest of the way. The gravel crunched under my shoes as we headed down the hill towards the graveyard.

"She's over here" Yelena said.

I nodded and followed Yelena before standing in-front of Natasha's grave. It had been decorated with flowers and candles but not from the people who knew her. Natasha Romanoff. Daughter, sister, Avenger.

I let out a shaky breath and knelt down running my hand along her name. I bit my lip trying to stop myself from crying. I sighed my head dropping to look down as tears escaped my eyes.

"I just want her back" I sobbed.

Yelena sighed and walked over taking a seat next to me rubbing my back in an attempt to soothe me.

I sat down folding my legs as I stared at Natasha's grave my body racking with sobs as my emotions hit my like a tidal wave.

"She's looking down on us" Yelena assured.

"She shouldn't be though she should be with us" I sobbed.

"I know kid" Yelena agreed pulling me in for a hug.

My body shook lightly as I tried not to cry. Yelena and I stayed there for hours just sitting in front of Natasha's grave. I didn't want to leave Nat all alone.

"She's proud of you ya know" Yelena said.

"You think so?" I asked.

"I know so Y/n" Yelena said.

I smiled slightly and wiped my cheeks ridding the last few tears.

"She died not even knowing that we won, we won because of her and she doesn't know it" I sighed.

"She sacrificed herself for the greater good" Yelena sighed.

"Sometimes I wish she didn't. I just wish there could've been another way" I said.

"Life's a bitch" Yelena said.

"You can say that again" I agreed.

I looked up at the sky to see stars twinkling above us surrounding the moon which was creating our only light source.

"We should probably head back now" Yelena said.

I nodded and leaned forward placing my head on the grave stone.

"Goodbye Nat" I whispered.

As we walked back to the car I looked up at the sky as I imagined Natasha looking down on me.

Yelena offered me a smile and draped her arm over my shoulder as we walked back to the car.

"Let's get you back to your girl" Yelena said.

I laughed a little nodding in agreement.

"I'm sure she's missing me terribly" I laughed.

"I'm sure she is she loves you I can tell" Yelena said with a small smile.

The drive home was thankfully shorter than the drive there. Yelena and I talked the way back about whatever came to mind and by time I got back to New York it was about 4am.

"Where will you go now?" I asked Yelena as she parked outside my apartment.

"Don't know yet" Yelena chuckled.

"I hope to see you again Yelena" I said.

"Me too, don't be afraid to call" Yelena said.

"I won't" I replied with a smile.

I got out of the car grabbing my bag and slinging it over my shoulder.

"I wish you and Kate the best" Yelena smiled.

"Thanks" I replied.

Yelena gave me a salute and drove off into the dark turning the corner and vanishing. I headed up the stairs back home letting out a yawn as I unlocked the front door.

I shut it quietly in an attempt to not wake up Kate. I placed my bag on the ground and kicked off my shoes heading up stairs to the bedroom.

I took off my clothes quietly getting changed before getting into bed. Kate instinctively turned towards me wrapping her arms around me body.

I smiled to myself as I watched Kate slowly wake up.

"Your back" Kate said her voice husky with sleep.

"Hey" I replied placing a kiss on her forehead.

"How was it?" She asked.

"Tough but I'm glad I went" I said.

Kate nodded laying her head on my chest listening to my heart beat.

"You can go back to sleep I'll be here in the morning" I said.

Kate was fighting to stay awake for me but failing epically.

"Ok goodnight love" Kate yawned.

"Goodnight" I whispered back allowing Kate to drift off.
