Chapter 65: Underwater interference!

After meeting Ace and Deuce in the mirror chamber, I reach into my skirt pocket and pull out the glowing green potion that Azul gave me.
"So, this is the potion that we got from Azul. Is it really going to allow us to breathe underwater?" asks Deuce sceptically, while he inspects the potion bottle.
"Wondering won't do us any good. We just have to drink it," huffs Jack before Ace opens the cork from the bottle.
"Well then, do this on ' go '. Ready, go! " said Ace before taking the first sip from the bottle and passing it to me.
Once it was in my hands, I look at the potion suspiciously first before deciding to bite the bullet and take a sip. After my first gulp, I felt the bile claw at my throat before I took a deep breath and forcefully gulping the liquid down. I passed it to Deuce.
"Ugh...Thi-this is..." groans Deuce in disgust after his sip, and passing the potion to Grim.
"Bleeegh. It tastes like dried frog mixed with rotten mushrooms, y'know! "said Grim. I look at him in confusion. How does he know what that specifically tastes like?
Ace tries to help calm me down by patting circles on my back, fighting the urge to vomit out the potion I just drank.
"What kind of an example is that? What the hell are you eating?" said Jack in disbelief before gulping down the rest of the potion. After swallowing the last of the liquid, I notice that Jack's face stiffens immediately. "Cough, cough...This flavour is a punch in the face..." he admits.
"The way potions taste is a serious problem if you ask me. How the hell do adults put up with this?" asks Ace before covering his mouth from nausea. "...Blegh," he dry-heaves, then it was my turn to pat his back.
"Effectiveness is more important than taste. Hm...What? It's getting hard to breathe...!?" said Deuce while he started feeling his chest tighten.
"Are our lungs starting to adjust for underwater breathing?" gasps Jack.
"Huff, huff...Shit, this is really starting to get hard to breathe. Let's just get to the ocean!" curses Ace.
Jack turns towards the mirror portal and chants. "Mirror, mirror on the wall! Lead us to the Coral Sea!"
At the end of his chanting, the mirror starts to glow and brightness clouds my vision.

Once the flash of light resolves, I slowly open my eyes and unconsciously hold my breath as I take in the sight before me. It was like a whole different world deep down in the ocean! The water was very clear; strange but large underwater vegetation decorated the reef. I also notice several schools of bright-hued fish swimming above us, and a large sea turtle staring at me like I was an alien being.
I giggle and blow a bubbly kiss to greet them playfully before swimming over to stand beside Grim and the others, feeling lucky that I wore my P.E. shorts underneath my skirt so I do not need to fear!
"Glubglubglub! We're underwater all of a sudden! We're gonna drown!" panics Grim before Deuce takes a breath in the water. "...Ugh, what? It doesn't hurt?"
"Eh?" said Grim before taking a breath in. "Oh, you're right," he realises before I start breathing normally too.
"We're breathing under the sea right now," said Jack in awe.
