"My sincere condolences." I said, glancing at the young elvish king.

"I appreciate it queen Seva." He's voice was raspy from unseen tears even if his eyes were red and the skin around them also rubbed the same color.

"I knew I asked a lot from you to help me, I never thought.... It would end like this." I told him, giving his shoulder a squeeze.

"We will destroy that queen." He hissed and I gave him a nod as he searched my eyes for reassurance.

"Of course we will."

I looked away from him and at the funeral parade.

"Thank you for apprehending them." He said again after a while.

"I only wished I could have stopped them before they did it" I sighed, watching the elf who got their tongue cut out, blindfolded and tied up for killing the queen, unfortunately I wasn't fast enough to stop him it seems. "I was going to have tea with her, if only I had gone there sooner."

"I am still grateful he was stopped." Yes... Me too.

I looked at the two siblings next to me, Skarla looked quite sad tho she only met the queen a few times, Davis would have spent more time around her as to get to the archives or library he needed to ask for permission each time he wanted to ge--I cut my line of thought of.

I blinked, he was staring my way and now we were with our gazes locked, what? Why are you looking at me like that? You are starting to become bothersome Davis.

I looked away and back forwards when the veil hidden body of the queen, such gruesome end, she didn't deserve that, strangled by plants, killed with what elves love the most.

I looped my arm around the back of the young king.

"I know some worry about you helping me but that didn't warrant killing her, it wouldn't change anything, tell me if there is something I can do to help."

"Thanks but this has nothing to do with you, my people are turning against me... I will show them what betraying me will cause!"

I grinned before wiping it off my face and fake-coughing in my hand.

I have you playing right in my arms little king.

I just need him to want me, I need to have him listen to my words and begs.

And I have a way...

----------------------------------------------------------

I prepared us tea, the one his mother taught me how to make when I had asked, when I say us it is because since we are guests Skarla, Davis and I remained with the king in his throne room after the ceremony.

"Here you go my king.... Your favorite."

"It is a nice gesture." He said, taking the cup from me.

"Of course."

"Really, thanks... And no, even sharper eyes." Davis nodded at his words and erased the coal off the parchment and started to draw that part of the improvised queen's portrait again.

Skarla was reading a book about magic I had given her, clearly feeling awkward to be reading in this atmosphere but she must learn.

I poured myself a cup before handing it to Skarla and making one for Davis, it would seem weird if I didn't, finally making myself one too.

I watched the poor king Sawyer drink from it without suspecting anything as I could feel the vial in my pocket, this will take longer but it is worth the wait this time.

We all sat in silence.

--------------------------------------------------------

It was so tense.

It is awkward to be studying while the king's mother just died but Seva would simply point down at the book each time I lifted my head from it so I gave in and kept reading.

It described fighting techniques with magic with sketches scrawled on the pages.

I did find myself be sucked in even if I couldn't forget the situation around me, there was way more differences between each magic type then I thought.

For earth magic it is close to the ground with more jerky, powerful strikes and less movement while fire was quite volatile and it was shown in how light someone was on their feet and fluid in the punches.

There were even a few surprises that became so obvious as I read more about it, like how magic related to water was less about punches with closed fists but more slashes and whirls of water around the user with open palms, only closing them to switch to ice.

And finally there was magic I never thought of tho it was an element the existed, lightning, I never thought of lightning magic, thinking how deadly it would be even to the caster of it.... But here in the book there are written things like how to redirect a strike of lightning.

I closed the book and looked at the name of the author, Arianwyn Gekast.... I wish I got to live and get to know other elemental mages, I mean I love Seva but others too, even this Arianwyn could have a lot of different stories.

Maybe I should not just re--"Open the book Skarla."

"A-ah yes." I quickly did, going back to reading.

She is right I gotta get stronger and know more or I will not reach my new dream and help her.

Come on, concentrate.

She needs you.
