another Chance

Itachi who was standing behind Deidara wanted to quickly deal with him so that sasuke would be able to rest and not waste his chakra anymore, he used his genjutsu to deal with Deidara but just as he wanted to make his next move he heard sasuke chuckling and with that familiar black flames suddenly covered Deidara and the giant clay dragon hovering in the air, just as he reacted he found himself standing on the ground, Itachi quickly turned to sasuke and immediately recognised the rinnegan that was just activated, be was shocked but this was not the time for this, he could not afford to be distracted right now, as he thought that he found that sasuke had disappeared from his spot, he felt a presence behind him and turned but when he turned he found himself at the spot where sasuke was standing just a second ago, he quickly turned around and saw sasuke dealing a fatal blow to Deidara, it looked really cruel as sasuke thrusted his sword through Deidara's chest peircing his heart and then activated his Chidori. The few small almost negligible specks of blood on sasuke's pale face looked so obvious, the dull eyes made Itachi's breathing hitch, he couldn't take his eyes off sasuke, the increasing guilt and self blame made it a little difficult and lot more painful for Itachi to breathe, he perceived that there was something wrong here,"So in the end....that stupid village is still so precious to you....more than me, right aniki?"he heard sasuke saying in a somewhat hoarse voice as if he was supressing something in his voice, Itachi realised that sasuke must have misunderstood his actions and he wanted to tell sasuke to calm down and that he was going with him back to konoha but before he could say a single syllable sasuke attacked him, the huge white snakes shot out of sasuke's seal which forced Itachi to dodge. Itachi stared at the huge white snakes his eyes turned cold as he activated his susano and the two uchihas engaged in a fierce exchange of blows, Itachi could feel the familiar sweet and fishy tasted of his own blood in his mouth ' Must wrap it up quickly' Itachi thought as he kept his eyes on sasuke who was almost exhausted, Itachi gritted his teeth and dealt the final blow, seal the cursed seal with his susano's help. Itachi panted as he walked to the fallen sasuke, his eyes softened as he gently sat beside his little brother and caressed  his hair softly before finally closing his eyes to rest, he was exhausted and had no energy to make any kind of movement, even the simple breathing was painful at the moment ' don't worry ototou...this time I'm choosing you over the konoha village... ' with that thought and a small smile on his lips Itachi fell asleep.

When sasuke woke up the first thing that entered his vision was a serene and peaceful sleeping face of his aniki, his eyes closed hiding those deep obsidian, his long thick lashes casting a faint shadow on his cheek, his silky black hair and bangs falling forward like a waterfall creating a false curtain, sasuke's whole being froze, he didn't even dare to breath, if it were not for the warm breath of aniki that he could feel on his face he would have panicked thinking that his aniki has left him forever.... or worse he once again killed his aniki with his own hand after loosing control over the seal....with his still furiously beating heart sasuke finally forced himself to calm down his hands that trembled ever so slightly as he restrained his urge to touch those long lashes, he didn't want to disturb his brother's rest but this was not comfortable nor was this a place to sleep. Just as sasuke was about to carefully getup he suddenly felt some movement in the nearby area, this chakra signature he was familiar with, it was Naruto and that replacement sai, sasuke's eyes dulled as he wanted to warn them to not to make noise but before he could do so Itachi snapped open his eyes, his eyes did not look sleepy there was not the slightest hint of sleep in those calm and deep obsidian orbs, meeting his aniki's eyes sasuke felt his barely calmed heart started beating faster again and his face felt slightly hot as a very faint pink dusted his cheeks. Itachi blinked as he stared at sasuke's onyx eyes that had returned to normal, his face was still pale but there was a slight pink on his cheeks, faint blue bags under his eyes clear sign of lack of proper sleep and over exertion,  sasuke looked really pitiful, and this made Itachi feel distressed and guilty, involuntarily Itachi raised his hand and gently caressed sasuke's cheek who stiffened slightly before relaxing

A/n: it's a short chapter this time , I'm sorry for not updating but it's just I have been thinking how to progress further in the story and so next few chapters are going to short like this one....but maybe not anyways I am really sorry again. Thanks for reading my fanfic and being so patient with me, you guys are simply the best.❤️
