Little twelve-year-old Kook opened his eyes only to get a blurred vision of everything. His head was throbbing in pain and so was his body. He grunted in order to move his muscles as a wince comes out of his mouth. He managed to sit on the floor before recollecting the memory of everything that happened before he passed out.
His heart wrenched in pain as soon as those hurtful visions of flashbacks crossed his naïve brain. Warm tears started to well up in his swollen eyes. He was feeling miserable he never felt before. It was literally piercing his soul. The pain in his little naïve heart was the way so much than his petite body. He hugged his knees and light sobs started to leave his throat. He started crying miserably. He still was on the living room's floor where he passed out the last time and from where he saw Ahn mercilessly dragging his mom to the room.
His heart started to beat fast as soon as he thought about his mom. His little naïve mind didn't have any idea what Ahn has done to her but one thing he knew for sure was that he gave her pain.....a lot of pain. He wiped his tears only to see his elder brother still unconsciously lying beside him. The blood on his head has dried. He almost gasped looking at Jungsan before he kneeled to San's level. "Hyung... Hyung, get up..." He mumbled in a weak tone but indeed it wasn't enough to wake San up.
He started to search for something he could get help to wake San up. He found the jug that was kept on the table. He stretched his hand to get it before peeking in it. There was some water inside it. He threw some drops of water on San. "Hyung... get up..." He started to shake him. Finally after a minute or two, he was able to bring San back to his consciousness. Kook sighed in relief. "Kook-ah," San mumbled, "Hyung, we need to get away from here as soon as possible," Little Kook mumbled back, "Where is mom, Kook?" San asked, "She is there..." Kook said before pointing at the door of the room that was in the side of the living hall.
Both brothers slowly made their way towards the room making sure none of the guards could see them. They managed to open the door before peeking inside where they saw their mother sobbing while resting her head on her knees. They gulped before managing to get inside, "Mom!!" Kook whispered making their mom come out of her thoughts. She looked up only to gasp, "San, Kook-ah, how did you both get here?" She asked wiping her tears. "Mom, that Ahn is moron. He has hurt you, mom. I won't leave him" Kook sobbed in his mother's arms.
"Hold yourself, Kook-ah, appa has always told you to not to cry," She mumbled back before patting his back, he nodded sobbing. "Mom, we will run away from here. Far away, that moron won't be able to catch us," Kook mumbled making their mother smile through the pain. "Mom, we came here to take you. We don't have much time. We need to leave right now, we have a chance," San mumbled.
"Yes, you both are right. We will run far away from here," She whispered back before trying to get up but eventually fell back making Kook gasp, "Mom, are you okay?" They both asked. Mrs. Jeon took a large gulp of breath before looking at them back, "Don't worry, I'm fine," She said with a pained expression but her sons could see the lie behind her 'I'm fine' it was getting heart-wrecking for them. They helped their mom before they finally managed to escape Ahn's penthouse where they were.

Few days passed as Mrs. Jeon's health started drop further and further. Indeed they didn't have the money to go to doctor. Even the shelter they managed to get was on the roadside. She couldn't contact anyone and neither did anything work for them. They literally had no money. Sixteen-year-old San managed to get a full-time job as a waiter on a safe but that was the other side of the town. It would literally take him almost night to return back to the canopy where street people live in. Life was no way easy for them. Instead, it was mildly taking the worst side ever.
"Mom— what happened...?" Little Kook gasped seeing her mother coughing and gasping for breaths. Tears started to threaten his eyes and he doesn't know what to do. "Mom, where is your inhaler?" He panicked searching for it but indeed, couldn't find it anywhere. It was getting out of control when the mother started to cough blood. The little boy's eyes widen in fear of seeing the blood. Indeed no-one was aware of the fact that Ahn's beatings and physical assaults has caused the poor lady to have internal bleeding.
