Crystal
Quick recap: I landed in SA about 5 hours ago and it turns out my dad's not sick. Shocker much! I should've know, the email Mama sent was just too cold and vague argh! I just don't get why they had to trick me into coming back home oh my gosh they are unbelievable!
I've been crying for about and hour since 'the news'- oh right, I still need to get to that part.
Back to the past
"So honey your father and I called you here for a reason" mom states
"Wait wait wait, so dad your not sick?" I ask looking at the very healthy man sitting comfortably and not sick "No I'm not sick-"
"Then why'd mom say you dying?"
"Because Nana, we know you wouldn't want to come homes, you've been ignoring and postponing your visits here" mom says
"I-i" I sigh
"Well Crystal, your now old enough to start a family and since you don't want to tell us what happened on prom night-"
"Whoa whoa whoa! Dad whoa! What does that night have to do with this? And I'm still not ready to start nor have a family. I'm fine living in america" Partially true
"Sweetie your gonna have to stay here, no more America because-"
"Because?" My glass was now finished
"Your getting married" she said
"Intoni (what) the hell!! SOMEBODY BETTER TELL ME THIS IS A PRANK BECAUSE IT SURE AS HELL AINT FUNNY" I stood up
"Honey calm down-" dad walks to me, I push him away feeling hot
"Hehehe! Yhoo Bawo, csalm down he says, calm down he says rhaa! If you all don't mind, I'm gonna go drown my sorrows in red wine and ice cream."
I head out "Crissy wait" I turn and look at her and she almost looks guilty? "Lolo tell me you didn't know about this fuckery!" I shout at her
"I'm sorry Crissy, I couldn't tell you cause aunty said they'd stop supporting my child and I" what!
"Lolo unomtwana (you have a child)??"
"Yeah, I'm sorry I never told you C" I turner to the backstabbers with a sigh
"Who is my soon to be husband"
I'd be lying if I said I'm prepared for what came next "Siyabonga Ethan Xhakaza" Bawo!
"I'm sorry, who!"
"Yes Crystal, Siyabonga has decided to make an honest woman out of you" Intoni!!!
"Haaike that's never gonna happen. Imagine, he's decided to make an honest woman out of me. Rhaa!!! Ayizuyenzeka lonto! Ever!"
"Oh you don't understand-" mom says walking towards me with a stern look on her face "There's no backing out of this. The Xhakaza family is coming for your lobola negotiations on Saturday and in a few weeks, is your wedding day. You have no say in is dear"
I felt numb right after she said that. How could they do this to me? Why would they do this to me. I walk out of the lounge room abs right there by the stairs is Millicent holding a bottle of sweet red wine and a tub of vanilla ice cream with a scoop. She hands them to me and I great fully take em and head to my room.
Recap over
I mixed the wine and ice cream because firstly Millicent didn't give me a damn glass, I forgot mine and secondly, I wanted to !is the two anyways. I stuffed my tear stained face with vanilla and sweet red wine flavoured ice cream. I made sure to lock my door, I don't know who brought my bags in here but I thank them for that.
Now for the past 30 something minutes, someone- no names mentioned -has been knocking on my door and like the petty bitch I am I've been ignoring them "Crystal jus open the door please, let's talk about this" Nyan what's there to talk about? Because everything seems to be set!
"I don't know why your begging her to open that damn door. Ngoba wena mama wauthe singatjixi imingyango because everything in this house belongs to you no tata, the only thing that's ours is ourselves."
Oh great! My loving baby sister. Awesome!
"Haai marn Amahle" mama shouts at her
"Haai mama suthi 'Haai marn Amahle' ngoba andithi kwangu nguwe othe kuthi ubs akhonto kulendlu engeyethi, Zonke, kanye nomnyango, ezakho. Into engeyethu are our bodies but somehow that doesn't apply to little miss perfect! Rhaaaa!"
"Hayi wena Amahle don't shout at uMama rha and if you don't have anything productive to give, gamba uyeke undigezela nxa!!" I shout at her
"Nxa! Andizuhlala apha for le oak mna-" she shouts
"Hamba khe!!" I hear loud feet walking, more like stomping away
"Amahle!" Mama shouts
"Haaiska!!" My little sisters have always had some kind of beef with me, I don't know why but its honestly getting old argh! I close the half eaten tub that's melting and I place it on my nightstand. I lay down on my bed and get comfortable, i know i over reacted with the Lolo situation but it hurts knowing that your cousins cant even rely on you for financial, emotional or any issues.
I mean I know I've been gone for close to ten years but I was gonna return, when I felt ready and I thought that I'd be ready in 2 years time. When I return permanently, there's a lot that's going to happen and I wanted, I still want for everyone to be comfortable and okay with the changes that ate going to happen but nooooo Siyabonga fucking Xhakaza just had to have his fucking way again.
Why'd I exactly think that it'd be so easy? Haai nam ndinobubhanxa sometimes. Argh he infuriates me, it's been years since I've seen him but the rage and anger is still there. This is unbelievable! All this charade!
On Saturday the first thing I'm doping is stopping this sham of a marriage. But first things first, I need a shower and sleep. I stand up and shimmy myself out of my sweats and hoodie and head for a shower.
===================================================done and dusted. first day of school? horribly hectic omw!
