Crystal
"Vukani, vukani mantombazane vukani (wake up, wake up girls wake up)i" I heard someone who sounded like my mother say
"Mmm" I groan and turn
"Haai haai Mbali vuka marn! Bonwabile Vukani(no no Mbali wake up man! Bonwabile wake up)" my mother shouts slapping our thighs
Bonwabile is Milicent's middle name
"Mamaaaa ha-a ndicel'uyeke (mommmmm no please stop)" I groan feeling my head pound
She pulls my blankets off of us and I feel the wind hitting my body "Sundiqhela Mbali ndithe vuka rhaa( don't test me Mbali, wake up!" She slaps my thigh, hardly so might I add.
I get up groaning and I balance my head on the wall massaging my temples.
"Hamba no Bonwabile niyohlamba kukho izinto ezininsi ezifunekayo ezangomso (Go and bath along with Bonwabile, there's a lot of things that we need for tomorrow)." She says
"Mama you're too loud. Please" I turn
"Haai marn ndithe vuka Mbali" she wacks me on my face
"Mama uyandilimaza( mama your hurting me)"
"Haaiska! Vukani marn. Tomorrow is your lobola day and there is so much to do in this house" I groan out loud
"Andifuni ukuchata mna mama( I don't want to marry mama)"
I could feel the look she gave me through my closed eyes. "Don't test me Mbali. Vusa lamntwana nihlambe and get me what I need for your day!"
She throws the pillow on Milicent who groans and turns in bed.
She leaves shutting the door loudly.
Yhuu haaike andazi
"Argh!" I lay my head on the pillow "Milicent" I shake her
"Hmmmm"
"Milly marn" I shake her harder
"Haai marn Crystal ndiyeke"
"Sisi she! This is my bed and my bedroom. Now we must get up before one of our mothers come in to wake us up. Phof uyabazi banobu rough. Abakwazi ubu gentleness." I shake her once more
"Jonga apha Crystal, shake me again and I'll-" she gets up and jumps over me heading to the bathroom. I turn to look at the spot that she was once on. I hear hurling and groaning.
Guess the alcohol didn't go down well.
After 30 minutes of hurling I heard the bathroom door shut and the shower running. I spent my time waiting for Milicent to finish up, fixing my bed and looking through outfits.
I never realized up until now that most of the clothes I had with me were winter clothes and it seems as if this Christmas will me sunny.
Not that SA has every had a cold Christmas, well unless you exclude 2021's Christmas then yeah.
I finally decided on a maroon polo neck long sleeve dress with my vans. I out all my necessities on my bed and sat to wait for Milicent to finish.
10 minutes later she was done, "Walithatha ixesha sisi (you sure took time sis)"
"Pjof bendikhupha ibabalaz. Kutheni wena ungenayo?"
"Because..." I stop to think
"Because?"
"Haai andazi nyan (well I don't know really)" I say
"Kumandi uba nguwe (it's nice to be you)"
"Ndiyazi love (I know love)" I begin my walk to the bathroom when the door bursts open. I turn to look at it and lo and behold; Calvin
