"I need you to reach into that cubicle and hand me my gun."

"Your what!" She screamed as I swerved, avoiding yet another bullet. "Hurry up. We don't have time." She fumbled with the latch. "Calm down." I said to her.

She turned to me, her eyes wide with fear. "There's nothing calm about what's going on Siya!" I took her hand in mine, "I know. But I'm gonna get us out of this. I need you to trust me. Okay." I moved into the fast lane, speeding up.

"Thatha. (Here)" she gave me the gun. I used my side mirrors to see how far the car was from us. I found the left wheel shaky and I use that to my advantage. "Shit!" I missed my shot.

"Let's switch seats." I heard her say.

"What?"

"I drive and you shoot. Just don't kill anyone please." Her voice quivered with ever word.

"Okay." I moved my seat back to make space for her. She unbuckled her seatbelt and jumped over onto my seat, once she had hands on the wheels, I move from behind her and onto the passenger seat. I rolled my window down and began shooting.

She swerved through the passing cars. "Siya!" We were reaching an off-ramp. "Continue straight!" I shouted, reloading my revolver. A loud ring cut through the panic.

"Speak!"

"Siya where are you? You should've arrived half an hour ago." Xola's voice rang through.

"I'm in a bit of a situation bhuti." One of those motheefuckers shot through the window, hitting me in my shoulder. "SHIT!" Sinothando screamed.

"Where are you?" His voice changed. "N3 heading south, we passed the off-ramp leading to Soweto"

"Okay. Hold on, I'm on my way."

"Sure. I need you to to to the next off-ramp we meet. Yangizwa?! (Do you hear me?!)"

"Yes." She focused on driving and I focused on shoot these motherfucking assholes. "Siya..." She called at me, her voice quivering. "Yindaba? (What's wrong?)"

"There's no other off-ramp."

"How is that! We are on the highway. Just keep driving. Whatever comes up, you take it."

She sped up.

We drove for about an hour with these idiots following us. My phone rang in the panic. "Tell me something good Xola."

"We are right behind you brother." Lights flashed behind us. Sino and I simultaneously let out a sigh of relief. Xola over took us, "Follow us."

"On it." I cut the call and we followed behind him. In no less than half an hour, we drove into the military base. "Siya, what are we doing here?" She turned to me with hesitation. "I'll explain in a bit." We drove on for a while and eventually, we neared an aircraft.

"Okay, park here." She parked the car. Three men approached the car, AK-47 guns in their hands. "Siya..." She locked the car.

"It's fine. They won't hurt us." I unlocked the car and opened my door. "Siya-" I closed the door and walked straight to the man in the middle. "Sir."

I nodded, "Do you have what I asked for?" He held his hand out and I grabbed the syringe. I carefully slid it in my pocket. "We don't have much time. Let's go." We walk to my car. I know on the window and she steps out.

"Let's go."

"Ha-a Siya. I-"

"Themba mina Sthandwa Sami. (Trust me My Love)" I hold my hand out to her. She grabs my open hand tightly and steps infront of me. I motion for the agents to take the kids.
