Roadside Attraction: Part 4

Dipper's p.o.v.

I watch Grunkle Stan walk off with Darlene and I tap my finger in thought, I just have to tell Candy I didn't mean to say yes and that I won't be with her before (y/n) finds me, I can do that I think. It wasn't long before Candy ran into me and I was dragged toward Mummy Town U.S.A. where after taking a quick look around we sat down on a bench.

"This place is so enchanting." "Sorta confused by the phrase 'New mummies daily!' though, I mean how does that even work?" I ask, staring up at the banner confused. "This mountain is full of mysteries like: Why is my head falling on your shoulder? Beop," She leans her head on my shoulder and I start getting nervous as I mutter to myself "Just take a deep breath and tell her this can't be a thing..." Just as I was about to tell her a new voice and I turn to see Alayna from the cornfield maze. "Oh Dipper hey!" She waves as she walks over. "Alayna!" "I was wondering when you'd call," She says, hopping on the bench as well.

"Dipper who is this?" Candy asks looking from me to Alayna. "Nobody! I mean this is my friend Alayna," I start to explain when we hear a new voice and we all look to the left to see Emma-Sue from the Upside-Down House. "Dipper! I didn't recognize you right side up. You'll never guess where my Mom gave birth...Hey, who are these girls?" "Dipper? Why haven't you called? Did our romantic log ride mean nothing to you?" 

We suddenly hear Brie ask, the girl from the log attraction and I start breathing in and out as I start to realize every girl here thought I had wanted to be more than friends. It's ok, there's no way this could get any worse. That's when (y/n) walked in... "Dipper! There you are! I've been looking all over-" She starts to say before noticing the four other girls surrounding me. "Dipper, what's going on?" She asks but before I could answer Candy tells me angrily "I can't believe it, you agreed to go on a date with me and you were seeing all these other girls?" 

"Well answer us which one of us do you like?" Alayna chimes in crossing her arms as all the girls start staring intently at me as I tell them "I like all of you but as a friend! There's only one girl for me and that's my girlfriend (y/n), I love her," I gesture toward (y/n) before continuing. "I'm sorry if I led you on, that wasn't my intention, I just wanted to make some new friends," Alayna, Emma-Sue, and Brie give me one last glare before walking off grumbling about how I was a jerk. My attention then turns to Candy who whispered "Dipper Pines, I thought you were a nice guy but I guess you only care about yourself," She storms off as well, (y/n) grabbing her arm and hissing something at her before letting her go. My gaze turns to (y/n) and I feel my heart ache as guilt washes over me and I squish my face in anger before sitting on the bench with my face in my hands.

(y/n)'s p.o.v.

My face goes red after hearing Dipper's declaration of love toward me and the three unknown girls walk off leaving me, Dipper, and Candy alone before she calls him selfish and goes to leave when I grab her arm and hiss at her "You don't get to say that when you know nothing about him and pull this little stunt," I then let her leave before I turn my attention to Dipper who was sitting on the bench with his face in his palms. As angry as I was, I needed to understand what was going on so I kneel in front of him and lightly grasp his palms, pulling them away from my face as I whisper to him "Hey, I don't want to believe what I just saw so tell me your story."

His frown only worsens as he apologizes to me. "Oh (y/n) I'm so so sorry I never meant to lead them on or hurt them especially you but everything got so out of hand..." I frown as well as I sit next to him and pulled him in for a hug before asking "What was this all about?" "I wanted to make some more friends so I don't come off as creepy, clingy, and possessive of you but I guess somewhere along the line they thought I was flirting with them."

He explains and relief washes over me to know he wasn't cheating on me but something else was still nagging at me and I ask "What made you think I thought you were creepy, possessive, and clingy?" "Mabel and Soos said that's what it looks like with how much time I spend with you plus all of the pictures I have of you, and us. I just wanted to take back as memories with me back home of us since I don't know what's gonna happen when the Summer is over..." He admits and I cup his cheeks shaking my head "You are none of those things and if for even a moment I feel that way I'll tell you. If I'm being honest I've been saving pictures of us as well it's as you say we don't know what's gonna happen after Summer is over," Dipper smiles to hear this, his cheeks soon tinting pink as he tells me:

"What I said was true though, you are the only girl for me, you're my entire world (y/n) and I love you," My cheeks turn pink as well as I stutter out "I l-love you too Dipper," With a smile we both lean in for a kiss.

Grunkle Stan's p.o.v.

"Oh, are you sure you wanna go this deep into the forest? It's so scary," Darleyene asks as we take a seat at a log bench. "Don't worry Toots, that spider people stuff is just an urban legend I can't believe people fall for it," I laugh out and she leans in. "You're so brave." "Hey, what van I say? I'm a real catch." "Yes. The catch of the day," Her voice gets scary as she blinks and her eyes are black. "Uh I think your contacts fell out-" She grew tall and a spider body appeared where the lower half of her body was before I was taken away.

(y/n)'s p.o.v.

We part from the kiss and hear static come from Dipper's radio. "Grunkle Stan?" Dipper answers confused before he answers. "Hey, buddy boy so remember how we were talking about my technique? Well, sometimes it leads to unexpected consequences." "Yeah you can say that again, all the girls I befriended thought I was trying to date them," Dipper laughs out before I ask "Is it time?" "Um, there's been a change of plans." "What? Why? Where are you?" I ask, worry starting to lace my voice.

"The good news is I've solved the mystery of where all of Oregon's mummies come from. The bad news is I'm about to become one. Turns out Darlene is one of those spider people but beyond that, the date's been ok," He tells s what's going on and we give each other a look of panic as Dipper asks "Wait, wait, wait Darleyne's a spider person?! How is that possible?"
