Summer with the Pine Twins: Summer's Coming to an End

Dipper and Mabel vs. the Future: Part 5

Dipper's p.o.v.

My eyes flutter open to see the dust start to clear and I sit up with a groan before hearing (y/n) let out a cough. I rush over to her and help her up and she reassures me she's fine before our attention turns to the pod and we rush over to it, opening the container that held our passed-out uncle and aunt. 

"Come on wake up, we gotta get out of here before-" I start to say when I hear (y/n) whisper in fright "Dipper!" I turn around and see the floating orb as it flew in closer and we point our magnetizing guns at it as I warned the thing. "Hey I'm warning you, we have magnet guns!" A giant gun pops out and aims at us, and I lightly push (y/n) behind me as I yell at the thing. "Oh yeah?! You think you can scare me?! Do your worst! Nothing in this universe is gonna take away my Uncle or her aunt. So go ahead give me what you got!" I glared at the orb even as it, broke down, slamming into the ground. (y/n) soon enraptured me in a hug shouting "We did it!" We then kiss before our attention turns to Ford and Grace who were chuckling.

"I thought we were goners..." Ford trails off as we help him and Grace up. "Are you alright? What happened?" "The orb didn't detect any chemical signs of fear. It assumed the threat was neutralized and self-disassembled," Grace explains and I  ask in astonishment "I did it?" "You did it, both of you. This is what we're talking about, how many twelve or thirteen-year-olds are capable of what you two just did?"

Ford says as I stare at my tall reflection in the pod before we decide to climb out of the ditch when we notice they were struggling to get up. "You sure you're ok?" (y/n) asks and Ford shrugs it off. "We're fine Sugar." "Let us help you get out of there," I say as we help pull the two out. "Listen Dipper this town is a magnet for things that are special and that includes, you, me, Grace, and (y/n). It brought all four of us here for a purpose. Stay here with us Dipper, become my apprentice, and don't let anyone hold you back," Ford tells me before going into a coughing fit when (y/n) grabs my hand and asks me with a small smile "What do you say Dipper? Want to stay here with me?" I smile and nod stating "I'll do it. I'm gonna stay," (y/n) hugs me again with an overjoyed smile before kissing me yet again. "Excellent. Now, who wants to save the world apprentices."

Mabel's p.o.v.

After giving everyone else the invites to the party I head back to the shack to see Dipper and (y/n) hadn't come back yet so while I waited in the attic I look over my scrapbook dedicated to the Summer and I let out a long sigh when Grunkle Stan walks in asking "Hey, everything alright Pumpkin?" He sits down next to me as I tell him what's wrong. 

"I just can't believe the Summer's almost over. And now that I know how awful high school is going to be I'm in no hurry to start that train wreck..." "Nobody likes getting older but just because you're growing up doesn't mean you have to grow up you know? I mean look at me I'm pushin' seventy and I still eat ice cream for dinner," He says, patting my shoulder reassuringly and I lean on his shoulder saying "But I don't want to say goodbye to Gravity Falls." "Hey, at least whatever happens after the Summer you'll still have your brother along with you through thick and thin and (y/n) too even if she can't physically be there. Not everyone can say that you know," He gives me a light noogie before leaving and I look down at a picture of me, Dipper, and (y/n) and I smile.

"Yeah at least I have one friend here who can come visit and when I go home I'll have Dipper. Good ol' reliable ol'-" The radio turns on and I can hear Dipper and (y/n) talking to Ford and Grace, catching my attention, and what I hear absolutely shatters my heart. Dipper was gonna stay here with (y/n), both as Ford and Grace's apprentices, leaving me behind and I start to tear up we were turning out just like Grunkle Stan and Grunkle Ford because of a bright future I was gonna lose my brother and my closest friend! For the rest of the day, I laid in bed weeping when finally Dipper and (y/n) came back.
