Dipper's p.o.v.
After leaving Mabel's tower I walked around Mabeland unsure of what to do now. I finally stop near a river next to a stuffed animal tree and I skip a rock on the water that giggled and I growled. "Ugh, even my stone skips are perfect! Who am I kidding? Maybe Mabel's right, it's a horror show out there. At least the air here is breathable..." "Dude, you're talking to a river," I suddenly hear a familiar voice and my eyes go wide and I turn to see (y/n)!
"(y/n)! You're here! I'm so glad you're safe b-but where have you been? I've been searching everywhere for you!" I cry out to her as I pull her in for a hug. "I've been wandering around aimlessly out there, I was looking for you guys when I stumbled across this pink bubble with a shooting star on it and I ended up here. Mabel said you were around here somewhere. She also told me what happened, and I think you're right," She tells me and I give a hopeful smile to her as I ask "Really? Now we just need a plan," I say, tapping my chin and (y/n) skips a rock, reassuring me. "Don't worry, we'll think of something like we always do."
(y/n) lays down in the grass while the question of how we were gonna get outta this mess continued to play in my head when (y/n) speaks up. "You know I've fallen in love with you right? You've turned into my dream guy," My eyes widen yet again as I lean back, my face turning redder than a tomato as I stutter "Wait do you r-really mean that?"
She nods and tells me "If I could I'd marry you right here, right now," She trails off and the image of us getting married flies into my head, my heart thudding in my chest. "Wait a minute...In this place, you can be any age you want so if we grew up you and me could get married and if you wanted...Start our own family." "Wait...Really?!" I ask stumbling to my knees as I stared at her and she nods. "I bet if we ask Mabel she could do it right now. In this place, it can finally be just you and me, come on man, just take my hand," She says as she gets up and offers me her hand with a wink.
I stop reaching out for her hand when I see the wink and my face falls flat, (y/n) has never winked at me while talking about something serious, this was a fake! I stumble away from her shouting "This isn't real!" She turns into a bunch of bugs with a glowing red eye as the bugs scatter away and everything turns creepy the stuffed animal tree bellowing:
"You shouldn't have done that Dipper! We're watching you. There are eyes everywhere!" I hear a bell ring and everything goes back to normal and I see that boy band Mabel is obsessed about riding by on a bike. I turn back to the tree to find it singing about being a stuffed animal tree again and I run from it.
The memory of what just happened replays in my head and I find myself wishing the real (y/n) was here to help us out of this mess, I can only hope she's safe. I began to walk again, not really paying attention to where I was going. When I finally look up I notice I was on a path different than what I have seen of Mabeland so far. The area wasn't brightly colored and it looked to be the only place untouched by Mabel. I keep walking down the path till I stumbled upon the Mystery Shack! But what really caught my attention was the fact that it was grey like when we had fought Bill in Stan's mind. Could she be in there?
I rush into the shack calling out for her in the grey area, checking every room until I finally reach our room. Nervously I close my eyes and open the door. I crack one eye open as I peek inside to see her curled up in the back of the room. "(Y/N!" I shout as I run over to her only to slam into an invisible wall?
"W-what? No. No, no, no, (y/n)! (y/n) can you hear me?!" I bound on the invisible barrier and she glances up and what I see shatters my heart: the same blank stare she had when I first met her at the beginning of the Summer...Bill had gotten to her and I didn't protect her...I slump down to the floor, tears beginning to prick my eyes as I apologize to her. "(y/n) I don't know if you can hear me but I am so so sorry, I couldn't protect you, and now what you feared the most has happened. I should've been there and I'm sorry," A few tears fall to the floorboards before I look up again to see she was sitting right across from me, her hand resting on the invisible wall where my hand was.
I look into (y/n)'s eyes as I try to steel myself and I make a promise to her. "(y/n), I promise, I'll do what I can to save you," I look away from her unsure of how to fulfill that promise, how would I even get past this invisible wall? Long story short I couldn't think of anything so instead I turn to the memories of us.
"(y/n) do remember back when things were simple? Back when all we did was help the occasional magical creature or fight over the smallest things? Heh those were the days but the memory I'll treasure most is when we became friends from then on you've had such an impact of my life and I'm not willing to give that up," I stand up and grab a bat and walk back. Tighting my grip I swing the bat as hard as I could at the invisible wall. "(y/n) I know you're in there, and I need you to fight this, we need you, I need you," I beg her to do something other than watch as I hit the wall with the bat. To my relief she stares at me before slowly nodding and starts pounding on the wall as well when it finally shatters to pieces.
Instantly I drop the bat and scoop her into a hug and within minutes she returns the hug exclaiming happily "I knew you'd find me!" I pull back to see once again she had color and I connect our lips. When we pull apart she gives me a smile as she tells me "I missed you too."
We leave the area where I fill her in on all that has happened and she starts to frown. "It sounds like everything has gone crazy." "This is crazy I think if we don't leave we'll lose our minds. We have to get out of here. We have to go back to the real world!" I shout and everyone gasps before buff waffle guards tackle us to the ground and surround us. "Under article smiley face of exhibit squeaky duck you are herby accused of breaking our one rule: Mentioning reality."
The guard states, causing an uproar of commotion from the residents and a portal to the outside world opens. "Prepare to be banished from Mabeland forever!" "Mabel! You're smarter than this! Bill has you hypnotized or something!" I call out to my sister and (y/n) chimes in. "Are you really gonna let them banish us?!"
