"hi, how's it going in here?", Erin spoke quietly noticing Sarah was asleep
"everything is perfect?"
"has anyone stopped by?"
"Sarahs family, left to check into a hotel about two hours ago"
"can I?", Erin asked, smiling over at the crib
"of course", I walked over with her
"they're gorgeous.. what are their names?"
"that's Alice, and that's Lorelei"
"you can tell them apart already? that's impressive mamma"
"they have different coloured eyes, but we put Alice in a different blanket because we couldn't tell while they were sleeping"
"who's got what?"
"Lorelei had got green eyes, and Alices are brown"
"god they're just simply precious. And how is Sarah feeling?"
"she's just tired, I think not having the epidural took the life out of her"
"well if everything is running smoothly like it is now, you should be able to take them home tomorrow night. It will feel a little easier once you're in a familiar space"
"thank you for everything Erin"
"I have just loved being with you through this whole experience. You're love is truly magical"
"thank you", I shook my head, a little embarrassed by her words
"mmmm", Sarah whined, slowly waking up "holland?"
"I'm right here sweetheart"
"hi Sarah, how are you feeling?"
"I'm okay", she spoke quietly, stretching out her body a little
"I came to help you start breast feeding, but if you are too tired I can come back later"
"no I want to do it", Sarah nodded sitting up "am I allowed to wake them?"
"yep", Erin encouraged, moving closer
Sarah reached, picking up Alice, holding her with one arm while she pulled down her hospital gown revealing her breasts
"try guiding her towards your nipple, she might just naturally latch on"
"okay", Sarah did as instructed, pulling a frustrated face "I don't think-"
"don't be afraid to give her a little nudge"
"oh my", Sarah giggled "that feel so weird"
"it might hurt a little at first, but that will pass.. look at her she's having the time of her life"
"were you hungry Alice?", Sarah beamed
"you look simply gorgeous darling", I commented, making Sarah smile at me grandly, mouthing 'I love you'
"are you okay?"
"yeah it's a little weird, but I think i'm okay"
"good", Erin hummed "each feed should usually take around twenty minutes, but it will change depending oh how tired they are, and how hungry they are"
we all just sat waiting Alice feeding in silence, Sarahs bright smile making my heart jump
she truly is gorgeous
"I think you've got the hang of it mamma.. I'll come back in the morning to check on you, do you think you're okay with Lorelei?"
"yes, I think so", Sarah answered not taking her eyes off Alice
