P: I am here with a very special guest today, actress Amanda Peet, Sarah Paulsons best friend
A: that's quite the title
P: I honestly didn't think that would agree do to this interview today
A: I am here on Sarahs behalf, she has of course given me a few instructions
P: how is Sarah?
A: she's.... well, I'm sure you can imagine how's she's doing, but this whole process for her was very.. hectic i guess you could say
P: how so?
A: she lost the love of her life, I don't know how to further explain it
P: about a year and a half ago Sarahs partner of thirty years passed away and this grieving process for Sarah has been, a sceptical of sorts.. wouldn't you say?
A: you could definitely say that, I mean what the papers published.. many were horrific. Saying that she didn't care-
P: she did go back to work a week later
A: she didn't have a choice
P: what do you mean by that?
A: Listen.. I mean.... holland was the only person that she had ever been with.. Sarah has never been good at letting go.... she had been with holland her whole life, it was like losing a limb, you can't adjust quickly
P: are you trying to say that going back to work was a distraction for her?
A: I'm saying that it's all she new how to do.. she.. she needed that time to forget for a moment, she lead with her head, not her heart.. which is now making it all that more unbearable to face
P: she worked for a straight year without a break
A: deep down I don't know why she did that.. but I do know that she didn't have a choice.. acting for Sarah had always been a way to escape reality, to.. drift into something else
P: so it was a distraction?
A: I just don't think that any part of her could comprehend what had happened, she couldn't understand why holland was gone.. she didn't want to live without her so she pretended as if nothing had happened.. she still doesn't want to live without her
P: so she spent a whole year working non stop, without any breaks.. then what happened? when did the fall come?
A: it was hollands birthday, and their daughters came over to see her, I was there too.. I had called Ryan a few months earlier making him promise that he wouldn't give her any more work, no matter how much she begged
P: and that's when it hit her?
A: she was numb, couldn't move, wouldn't eat.... her heart was broken.... she had lost the light in her life, it had left the moment holland passed and now she was in the dark..
P: is she finding her way back to the light?
A: she will.. holland would hate to see her like this, and Sarah knows that.. there was always and element of sacrifice in their relationship, they would have done anything to keep one another happy.. even leave each other
