Alina's mission had been going smoothly for the past year but she had heard no more of Dreykov or anyone in the Red Room. She presumed they were changing location because someone possibly found out where they were and tried to take them down.
The Russian sat on her bed, Wade asleep next to her with his head on her thigh. She had moved the Tv into her room because Wade so desperately wanted to watch films in her bed instead of in the living room. It was either that or a fort but she didn't have enough chairs for that, sadly.
On the floor, her computer was charging and the screen flickered on automatically. That usually meant Dreykov had gave her an order so she grabbed it, placing it beside her. Looking down at Wade, she ran her hand over his short hair, checking if he would wake up but all he did was mumble in his sleep before stilling again.
She logged into her computer and went to the notification. Her eyebrows furrowed when Dreykov's name didn't appear at the top but how it was a completely different person. Scrolling to the bottom of the letter, her lips parted at the name; N. Romanoff.
"Блядь." Alina mumbled, scrolling back up to read it; it was only short. (Fuck)
Alina,
Me and my partner have taken down the Red Room. Dreykov is dead. Before I get something back asking whether his body was found, there was no body to find. We blew up his office with him inside.
I'm not sure if you're still working for the Red Room but if so, you're free now. I don't know where Yelena is but if you do, send her this. And don't look for me no matter what. It's safer that we don't find each other.
N. Romanoff
Dead, just like that? That sounded nothing like Dreykov but it would explain his lack of communication. No body had come looking for her and they weren't coming any time soon. It was almost relieving that there was no more of him. She was finally free.
A smile crossed her lips as she shut down her computer and placed it down on the floor. She grabbed her coke and took a sip, eyes focused back on the Tv. Alina's eyes slowly flickered down to Wade's sleeping face and she felt awful. The mission had to come to an end but why should this?
Alina's eyes flickered around the room, eyes landing on hers and Wade's butt-plug-looking-dinosaurs which the mercenary had decided to present as if they were fucking on her set of drawers. She smiled a little wider, looking back down at Wade.
"It's creepy now, dungarees, stop staring." Wade grumbled sleepily and she scoffed. "I know I'm beautiful, but too far."
"Mhm." She hummed, slapping his forehead lightly and he grinned.
"What're you doing?" He questioned, yawning quietly as he looked up at her.
"Watching this." Alina replied, gesturing to the Tv. "They sit in a coffee shop all day. Nothing else was on and you were asleep."
"Thoughtful of you, Lina." Wade smirked. "So soft. Like a flaccid dick."
"Now that was too far." Alina grimaced as he sat up beside her. "Sleep okay?"
"Yeah. Dreamt about talking vaginas. It was great." Wade mumbled and she snorted, playing with his fingers in her lap. "You okay? You seem distracted?"
"Hm, yeah. Just got an email from someone, that's all." Alina nodded.
"Bad news?" He asked.
"No. No, she was just saying hi." Alina replied. "Haven't seen her in years, just a shock. I'm so fabulous she couldn't stay away."
"I mean, it probably true." Wade smiled. "It's your turn tonight. What we watching?"
"Silence of the Lambs." Alina mused. "My favourite."
"No, you're favourite is Shrek don't lie." Wade mumbled.
"Fine. We're watching Shrek now because you put it in my mind." Alina murmured, laying her head on his shoulder and his arm slid around her waist, pulling her closer.
"Fair." Wade hummed, looking down at her with kind eyes as she flicked the film on. "You want a drink?"
"Please." She nodded. "Just an apple juice."
"Just? Wow. You ask for so much." Wade gasped, getting up as she chuckled.
Wade left her bedroom and she grinned, eyes going back to the screen and watching the film. From the kitchen, she heard a hum of surprise before heavy footsteps sounded and Wade was suddenly back in her doorway.
