"Yes."

"Alina!"

"What?" The former assassin asked, spinning to Steve who seemed in a rush. "Can't you see I'm busy."

"Walking around a corridor?" Steve questioned, raising an eyebrow.

"Exactly. See, you got it." She shrugged.

"Okay, whatever. Do you know anything about Fury? Or what S.H.I.E.L.D. is doing that they aren't telling us?" Steve quizzed.

"No. I got here same time as you. Why?" Alina asked.

"Could you help me with something?" He sighed.

"I don't feel like hiding a body. It has been around year since I ha-"

"God, no." Steve cut her off and she hummed. "I think that they have something hidden and I wondered if you'd help me find it."

"What are you looking for?" Alina questioned as Steve started to lead her down the corridor.

"I'm not sure." Steve mumbled.

"Then why look? That is like trying to swing on swing with no arms." Alina scoffed. "But, I am bored so I will help."

The pair moved down some hallways together, making sure no agents were watching what they did. When they found a thick metal door hat said SECURE STORAGE on it, Steve nodded at it. The Super Soldiers gripped the door and started to pull until it broke, sliding open for them.

A few agents were speaking in the distance as they walked into the room, it being filled with many large boxes. Glancing to the distant talking, Alina then gestured upwards towards the yellow metal railings above. Steve jumped, hands curling around the middle bar of the railings and then jumped onto the path, Alina doing the same with ease, neither of them making a sound.

Moving over to some of the boxes, Steve cracked open a lid and Alina looked down at the contents of the box. Steve seemed angry at what it was but Alina had no idea of what the suit was or how the guns worked.

"Why are you angry? It is suit and guns." Alina mused, slapping a black helmet. "Means nothing."

"It's HYDRA." Steve grumbled, picking up a gun.

"I still don't understand." Alina hummed before thinking. "Oh, that is the organisation you took down, supposedly. Oh, I get your anger now, Captain. My father told many stories of you to try and make me sleep."

"That boring, huh?" Steve asked, handing Alina the gun so he could shut the box.

"It usually ended with him breaking my bedside table." Alina stated. "He does not like you. Told me of your fights together."

"How old is your father?" Steve inquired as they started to leave.

"I have no idea. None of them were true. You were at bottom of ocean in the time periods he said they happened." Alina muttered. "He is jealous of your fame."

"What was his name?" Steve asked.

"The Red Guardian." Alina smirked when Steve shook his head in confusion. "Exactly."

-

"What is 'Phase 2'?" Tony asked Fury and Alina planted the large weapon on the table, Steve by her side.

"Phase 2 is S.H.I.E.L.D uses the cube to make weapons." Steve answered. "Sorry, computer was moving a little slow for me."

"You should hide things better." Alina commented, looking to Fury as she pushed the gun towards him. "Not very intelligent of you."

"Rogers, Shostakov, we gathered everything related to the Tesseract. This does not mean that we're making-"

"I'm sorry, Nick." Ton interrupted Fury, spinning a diagram of the way the gun would work to them. "What were you lying?"

"I was wrong, Director." Steve uttered as Thor and Natasha walked into the lab. "The world hasn't changed a bit."

"Did you know about this?" Bruce demanded, looking to Natasha.

"You wanna think about removing yourself from this environment, Doctor?" Natasha suggested.

"I was in Calcutta. I was pretty well removed." Bruce retorted.

"Loki is manipulating you." Natasha tried, stepping closer.

"And you've been doing what, exactly?" Bruce shot back.

"You didn't come her because I bat my eyelashes at you." Natasha mused.

"Yes, and I'm not leaving," Bruce stated firmly, "because suddenly you get a little twitchy. I'd like to know why S.H.I.E.L.D. is using the Tesseract to build weapons of mass destruction."

"Because of him." Fury pointed at Thor.

"Me?" Thor asked.

"Last year, Earth had a visitor from another planet who had a grudge match that levelled a small town. We learned that not only are we not alone, but we are hopelessly, hilariously, outgunned." Fury explained.

"My people want nothing but peace with your planet." Thor argued.

"But you're not the only people out there, are you?" Fury continued. "And you're not the only threat. The world's filling up with people who can't be matched, that can't be controlled."

"Like you controlled the cube?" Steve questioned snappily.

"Your work with the Tesseract is what drew Loki to it, and his allies." Thor chimed in. "It is the signal to all the realms that the Earth us ready for a higher form of war."

"A higher form?" Steve repeated.

"You forced our hand. We had to come up with something." Fury reasoned.

"A nuclear deterrent." Tony cut in. "Because that always calms everything right down."

"Remind me again how you made your fortune, Stark." Fury snapped.

"I'm sure if he still made weapons, Stark would be neck-deep-"

"Wait, wait. Hold on. How is this now about me?" Tony interrupted Steve.

"I'm sorry isn't everything?" Steve shot back.

"It is like watching Mean Girls." Alina grinned, standing beside Natasha.

"You watched that?" Natasha asked quietly.

"Yes." Alina nodded.

"I thought humans were more evolved than this." Thor mumbled.

"Excuse me, did we come to your planet and blow stuff up?" Fury sassed.

"You treat your champions with such mistrust." Thor retorted.

"Are you guys really that naïve?" Natasha chimed in. "S.H.I.E.L.D. monitors potential threats."

"Captain America's on threat watch?" Bruce asked, leaning on the table with his arms crossed.

"We all are." Natasha answered.

"Мой Бог." Alina muttered with a small chuckle. (My God)

"Wait, you're on that list? Are you above or below angry bees?"

"Stark, so held me God, if you make one more wisecrack-"

"Threat! Verbal threat. I feel threatened."

"Show some respect."

"Respect what?"

Their arguing overlapped each others voices, Alina just standing by and watching it in amusement. Her smirk faulted when she saw the gem on the sceptre glowing brighter than it was before, pulsating.
