- "You've gotten very boring recently, you know?" -
Alina, Steve, Sam and T'Challa were all in the back of a van after being arrested. Silence was all there was in the van as Alina leant her head back, closing her eyes.
It was silent until Sam asked, "So, you like cats?"
"Sam." Steve warned as Alina snorted.
"What? Dude shows up dressed like a cat, you don't wanna know more?" Sam shot back.
"Your suit... it's vibranium?" Steve questioned.
"The Black Panther has been the protector of Wakanda for generations. A mantle, passed from warrior to warrior. And now, because you're friend murdered my father, I also wear the mantle of king. So, I ask you, as both warrior and king, how long do you think you can keep your friend safe from me?" T'Challa quizzed.
"So, you don't know Pink Panther?" Alina asked awkwardly.
"Alina." Steve warned.
"I'm uncomfortable, it happens." She shrugged, turning to looking back out of the window.
After a while, they arrived at their location and got out of the van. Bucky was in a glass cage, trapped in a metal chair. Steve looked over at him but the former Winter Solider wouldn't look back at him.
"What's gonna happen to him?" Steve asked.
"Same thing that ought to happen to you." A man next to Sharon responded. "Phycological evaluation and extradition."
"This is Everett Ross, Deputy Task Force Commander." Sharon explained.
"What about a lawyer?" Steve questioned.
"Lawyer. That's funny." Everett nodded. "See their weapons are placed in lockup. We'll write you a receipt."
"I better not look out the window and see anybody flying around in that." Sam glared when someone walked past with his wings.
The Avengers and T'Challa followed after Everett who started speaking again, "You'll be provided with an office instead of a cell. Now, do me a favour, stay in it?"
"I don't intend on going anywhere." T'Challa responded.
Natasha came up between Steve and Alina, "For the record, this is what making things worse looks like."
"He's alive." Steve said simply.
They walked further into an office where stony was speaking on the phone. Natasha glanced back at her friends, "Try it to break anything while we fix this."
"'Consequences'?" Steve repeated what Tiny had said on his call.
"Secretary Ross wants you all prosecuted. Had to give him something." Tony replied.
"I'm not getting that shield back, am I?" Steve quizzed.
"Technically, it's the government's property." Natasha said. "Wings too."
"That's cold." Sam mumbled.
"Warmer than jail." Tony shot back.
"You've gotten very boring recently, you know?" Alina grumbled.
Steve went into an office with Tony and the pair began speaking before it got heated and Steve stood up, shouting back at a very frustrate billionaire. Alina and Sam were sat in a different small room together, bored.
Steve walked into that room as the therapist was speaking to Bucky. Sharon entered, too, handing something to Sam, "The receipt for your gear."
"'Bird Costume'? Come on." Sam scoffed and Alina grinned in amusement.
"I didn't write it." Sharon sighed and pressed a button so they could hear the conversation between Bucky and the therapist.
"I'm not here to judge you." The therapist said. "I just want to ask you a few questions. Do you know where you are, James? I can't help you if you don't talk to me, James."
"My name is Bucky." He replied quietly.
Steve looked down at a photo of Bucky of him, supposedly, leaving the scene where he killed King T'Chaka, "Why would the Task Force release this photo to begin with?"
"Get the word out, involved as many eyes as we can?" Sharon offered.
"Right. It's a good way to flush a guy out of hiding." Steve mused. "Set off a bomb, get your picture taken. Get seven billion people looking for the Winter Soldier."
"You're saying someone framed him to find him?" Sharon asked.
"Steve, we looked for the guy for two years and found nothing." Sam said.
"We didn't bomb the UN. That turns lots of heads." Alina spoke up.
"Yeah, but that doesn't guarantee that whoever framed him would get him. It guarantees that we would." Sharon explained.
Her eyebrows furrowed and Steve snapped his gaze back to the Tv, "Yeah."
"Tell me, Bucky. You've seen a great deal, haven't you?" Zemo asked.
"I don't wanna talk about it." Bucky stated.
"You fear that if you open your mouth, the horrors might never stop." Zemo continued. "Don't worry. We only have to talk about one."
The power suddenly went out and they lots the footage of Bucky. Everett was panicking, demanding it to be fixed and people to focus on keeping their eyes on Bucky. Tony used his glasses to try and find the source.
"Sub-level five, Eat Wing." Sharon told Steve who raced away with Sam and Alina.
