Christmas 2011
"If your left leg is Thanksgiving, and your right leg is Christmas, can I visit you between the holidays?" Wade asked, placing a cup of hot chocolate down on their bedside table before sitting in front of Alina on the bed. He grabbed the top of the bedsheets and pulled them down revealing her ugly Christmas jumper, him wearing one too. "Oh! That sweater is terrible. But red looks good on you."
"Red's your colour." Alina responded with a grin. "Maybe you should choose that if you ever get a spandex suit."
"Maybe for Halloween next year. We could go as pornstars." Wade joked and she chuckled.
"Listen, I've been thinking..." Wade trailed off.
"Really?" Alina quizzed and he nodded. "That can't be good."
"Shut up, I'm trying to be cheesy for once. Don't ruin my cheddar moment." Wade smiled. "Anyway, i was thinking about why we're so good together."
"Forget cheddar, Wade, this is going to be blue cheese. It stinks." Alina grinned, sitting up.
"Okay, let me have my stilton moment." Wade sighed dramatically.
"Why are we good together?" Alina asked, getting back on track.
"Well your crazy matches my crazy. Big time." Wade answered and Alina hummed, smiling. "And, uh, we're like two jigsaw pieces, you know, the weird curve edges."
"You put them together and you see a picture." Alina nodded.
"Right." Wade agreed.
"дорогой, I wanted to ask something." Alina started, sitting on her knees and wrapping her arms around his neck. "Will you let me f-"
"Marry me?" Wade interrupted, holding up a ring pop.
"Jinx?" Alina offered awkwardly.
"Huh." Wade muttered nervously.
"Where were you hiding that?" Alina asked, referring to the fact he was wearing no trousers or underwear.
"Nowhere." Wade replied. "They say one month's salary. So, uh..."
"You mean?" Alina asked, grinning.
"I do." Wade responded.
"I'm supposed to say that." Alina mumbled before kissing him softly. "I love you, Wade Wilson."
"You're supposed to... so that's a-"
"Yes!" Alina exclaimed.
"Whoo!" Wade yelled happily before punching the blanket extatically a few times. "Yes! I feel just like a little girl." The pair flopped down onto the bed again, Wade spooning Alina. "What if I just held on and never let go?"
"Just ride a bitch's back like Yoda on Luke." Alina joked.
"Oh, Star Wars jokes." Wade sighed, eyes closed.
"Empire." Alina corrected and Wade looked down at her.
"Jesus Christ. It's like I made you in a computer." Wade gushed and she reached a hand around to the back of his head, pulling him in for another kiss. After parting, Wade grabbed the camera Alina got for him for Christmas. "Hey. Perfect."
"Take another. I want one for my wallet." Alina muttered and Wade did, the red head holding his cheeks as they both looked into the camera. It came out and Alina grabbed one in each hand, starting to shake them.
"Pee break. Shake it, yeah." Wade agreed, getting up to go to the toilet.
Here's the thing. Life in an endless series of train-wrecks with only brief, commercial-like breaks of happiness. This had been the ultimate commercial break. Which meant it was time to return to our regularly scheduled programming
Wade pulled his jumper over his head before rubbing his hands together, Alina still grinning at him, the two photos now formed and on their beside table. The former-assassin grew confused when Wade seemingly stood a bit lob-sided and dizzy.
"What the f-" Wade cut himself off by fainting and falling to the floor, Alina shooting up and across the bed.
"Oh, God. Wade?"

"You're clowning. You're not clowning? I sense clowns." Wade mumbled as he and Alina sat in the doctors office.
"People react to the news of late-stage cancer differently. There are certainly options we can look into. New drugs are being developed every day." The doctor informed them and Alina reached over to Wade, the mercenary holding her hands tightly.
"So what do we do?" Alina asked quickly as Wade stared at her. "There's got to be something we can do. My old friend was diagnosed with breast cancer and there were all these new experimented drugs from Germany."
Alina's already working on Plan A, B, all the way through Z. Me? I'm memorising the details of her face. Like it's the first time I'm seeing it. Or the last.
"Mr. Wilson... Mr. Wilson?" The doctor asked and Wade snapped his head back to her. "Take your time to process this. It's important not to do anything rash."

If you don't get the italic bits, that's Wade thinking basically because that's how he narrates the films. I'm keeping them in because I like them
