Alina walked down from her room until he Avengers tower she used sometimes in a black dress that had a slit up the leg and dipped to show off some cleavage. When she got to the party, she grabbed a drink and made her way over to Maria, Thor, Tony and Rhodey.
"But, you know, the suit can take the weight, right?" Rhodey started. "So I take the tank, fly it right up to the general's palace, drop it at his feet. I'm, like, 'Boom. You looking for this?'" He smiled while the group around him just stared at him. "'Boom. Are you looking for...' Why do I even talk to you guys? Everywhere else, that story kills."
"That's the whole story?" Thor asked.
"Yeah, it's a War Machine story." Rhodey shrugged.
"Oh, it's very good, then." Thor tried. "It's impressive."
"Great save." Alina said sarcastically, sipping her drink.
"So, no Pepper? She's not coming?" Rhodey questioned, looking to Tony.
"No." Tony denied.
"What about Jane? Where are the ladies, gentlemen?" Maria asked.
"Oh, Ms. Potts has a company to run." Tony smiled.
"Yes, I'm not even sure what country Jane's in." Thor bragged. "Her work on the Convergence has made her the world's most famous astronomer."
"And the company that Pepper runs is the largest tech conglomerate on Earth. It's pretty exciting." Tony added and Rhodey, Maria and Alina all glanced to each other.
"There's even talk of Jane getting a, um, Novel Prize." Thor continued.
"Yeah, they must be busy because they would hate missing you guys get together." Maria cleared her throat, faking a cough, "Testosterone!"
"Oh, wow. Maria, are you okay?" Alina faked worry.
"Excuse me." Maria smirked.
"Cough drop?" Alina questioned, laughing as they walked away from Thor and Tony.
Alina made her way over to Natasha who was behind the bar, "Serve me, peasant."
"I will poison you." Natasha joked, handing a bottle of beer to Alina.
"Please. I cannot stand this party." Alina mumbled, pulling the cap off.
"Where's Wade?" Natasha questioned with her usual smirk.
"I'm not sure. I think... China." Alina hummed. "Yeah, China."
"I meant why isn't he here- Why is he in China?" Natasha asked.
"He had job. Gold card." Alina shrugged.
"Fury still isn't pleased you're dating a mercenary. Think of the damage he caused." Natasha chuckled.
