Lightning Bending

3rd POV

4-year-old (Y/N) was chasing her mother on the field behind their house.
"Haha! I got you, Mom."
She fake firebended at her mother who faked being hit and fell on the grass. She then jumped on her laughing, her mother too.

10-year-old crying (Y/N) was holding her dead mother in her arms.
"I'm so sorry, Mom. I couldn't protect you but I will take revenge for you."

"(Y/N)."

(Y/N) POV

I woke up seeing Zuko looking at me from above.
"You were unconscious. Azula did this to you. It was a surprise attack."
I looked at my left shoulder which was bandaged. I tried to sit up but hissed in pain.
"Somehow that's not so surprising. How she was fixing Dad, I knew she was going to do something to him. I couldn't let that happen. She's done enough harm to you both.", I said.
Dad came in the house seeing that I woke up.
"You're finally awake. We were worried you wouldn't wake up. Especially Zuko.", he said.
I looked at Zuko who looked away embarrassed.

Is he blushing?

"How long was I out?", I asked.
"Just two days.", Zuko said handing me a cup of tea, "I hope I made it the way you like it. Uncle helped me a bit."
I took it taking a sip.
"It's good, it's not like Dad makes it, but good. It's a start.", I praised smiling at him.
"Thank you (Y/N)! So, Uncle, I've been thinking. It's only a matter of time before I run into Azula again. I'm going to need to know more advanced firebending if I'm going to stand a chance against her. I know what you're gonna say: She's my sister and I should be trying to get along with her."
"No. She's crazy, and she needs to go down.", Dad said.
I nodded in agreement. He stood up.
"It's time to resume your training.", he declared.

Time Skip

Dad made more tea.

"Lightning is a pure expression of firebending without aggression. It is not fueled by rage or emotion the way other firebending is. Some call lightning the cold-blooded fire. It is precise and deadly, like Azula. To perform the technique requires peace of min.", he explained handing us a cup of tea.
"I see. That's why we're drinking tea to calm the mind.", Zuko guessed.
"Oh, yeah, good point!", Dad praised hapily the changed his mood, "I mean, yes."
I chuckled from his cool acting.

After calming our minds, we went outside.
"There is energy all around us. The energy is both Yin and Yang, a positive energy and a negative energy. Only a select few firebenders can separate these energies. This creates an imbalance. The energy wants to restore balance. And in the moment the positive and negative energy come crashing back together, you provide release and guidance, creating lightning.", Dad continue explaining.

He gestured us to move back which we did. He created lightning from his fingertips. I looked at Zuko seeing amazement in his eyes. Dad shot the lightning out.
