Arriving at Ba Sing Se

(Y/N) POV

We arrived at Ba Sing Se standing at the booth to get our passports controlled.

"So ... Ms. Gaojin, Mr. Lee and Mr., um, Mushy, is it?", the booth lady said.
"It's pronounced "Moo-shee.", Dad corrected.
"You tellin' me how to do my job?", she threatened.
"Uh, no, no. But may I just say you're like a flower in bloom. Your beauty's intoxicating.", he said complimenting her.
"Mm, you're pretty easy on the eyes yourself, handsome. Raow.", she flirted and stamped our passeports, "Welcome to Ba Sing Se."
Dad took our passeports turning to us.
"I'm gonna forget I saw that.", Zuko said snatching his passeport.
"I think it was quite funny and cute.", I said taking mine.

We walked towards the train rails waiting for the next train. We took seat on a bench.

"So you guys got plans once you're inside the city?", Jet said sitting next to Zuko.
"Get your hot tea here! Finest tea in Ba Sing Se!", a man called out passing by with his cart.
Dad waved at him to get his attention.
"Ooh! Jasmine, please."
The man gave him a cup and poured the tea. Dad takes a sip.
"Blaugh! Ugh, coldest tea in Ba Sing Se is more like it. What a disgrace.", Dad complained.
"What, really?", I took his cup taking a sip, "Eeww, yeah, total disgrace."
"Hey, can I talk to you for a second?", Jet asked Zuko.

They stood walking a few steps away from Dad and I. I listened to their conversation with suspicion.

Zuko's POV

"You and I have a much better chance making it in the city if we stick together. Want to join the Freedom Fighters?", Jet asked me.
"Thanks, but I don't think you want me in your gang.", I declined.
"Come on, we made a great team looting that captain's food. Think of all the good we could do for these refugees."
"I said no."
"What about Gaojin? She will also make a great freedom fighter."
"She wouldn't want it either."
"Have it your way?"
I walked towards Uncle and (Y/N). Uncle was drinking his tea but it was steaming.

Is he crazy? Heating up his tea?

I turned back to Jet seeing that he had a look of shock walking away. He must have see it. I slapped the cup out of Uncle's hand.
"Hey!"
"What are you doing firebending your tea? For a wise, old man, that was a pretty stupid move.", I whisper-shouted at him.
"I know you're not supposed to cry over spilled tea, but ...", he sniffed looking at the spilled tea on the ground, "that's so sad."
(Y/N) picked up the cup and waterbended the tea back into it.
"Here, Dad."
"Thank you, my dear."

Time Skip

(Y/N) POV

"Last call for Ba Sing Se!", someone said.

We boarded the train. I sat next to a woman with a baby. Looking at her, I recognise Ying and Than. The couple we met when Zuko and I were travelling alone.

"Ying!"
She looked at me.
"Gaojin! So good to see you!"
"It's good to see you too.", then I saw the baby in her arms, "Is that your baby?"
"Yes, she was born before we arrived here."
"She was impatient to meet you."
"Yes, she was. Her name's Hope."
"Beautiful name. It suits her.", I complimented rubbing Hope's cheek with my finger.
"Do you want to hold her?", she asked.
"Only if it's alright with you."
She nodded handing Hope to me.
"She's so beautiful. She's going to have a wonderful future."
