You was lost. Your mami said she'd be right back. she put rocks in her pockets as she went in the river. you was only 3 and it was getting late and cold.
"mami!" you shout scared.
you shiver and see some pretty flowers. you start to pick them because maybe when mami comes back she will want flowers. you trip and start to cry.
"hey are you okay?" you hear a voice.
you look up and see a woman who has a flower behind her ear and a pretty dress with different colors. her hair has a green streak in it.
"mami left me. " you cry
she picks you and holds you close.
"shh it's okay I got you. let's get you inside somewhere warm. my name is isabela. " she tells you.
she takes you inside a nice pretty house and you hide your face in her neck when people rush over.
"who's kid is this?" Julieta ask her daughter concern
"i don't know. i found them outside." Isabela said
"are you hungry?" Julieta ask
you are scared and hold on tighter to isabela
"hey it's okay that's my mami. would you like some food? I can hold you the whole time" Isabela said to calm you.
you nod as your stomach grumbles. Isabela holds you as you ate
"when did you eat last?" she ask
"3 nights ago" you tell her
Julieta's heart breaks hearing that.
"can you find my mami? " you ask
"we can try. where did you see your mami last?" Isabela ask and strokes your hair
"near the river. she put rocks in her pocket and went in the water. she wanted me to go look for some flowers. i went and she was gone. " you say sadly.
the women look at each other and they know your mom won't be coming back.
"how about we take a nice bubble bath. i'm sure some of Antonio's old clothes will fit. " Julieta says
you nod and let Julieta take you to take a bath. After you ask for Isabela scared she left. you start crying after your bath since you don't see her. Isabela hurries when she hears your cry. she holds you and you calm down. that night you slept with her.
{a year and a half later}
"where is my baby?" Isabela says looking around.
you giggle from under the bed. you shriek as a vine pulls you out. Isabela picks you up and smiles
"mami not fair!" you say laughing.
after being in the madrigal house you started calling Isabela mami and she didn't mind. you captured her heart. she didn't want to be with anyone romantically but she always wanted a child. she's happy she got you.
"well mi amor we have to get ready. someone gets their gift today. " she tells you smiling
"I do!" you shout happily
she nods and smiles proudly at you.
"now let's go get ready. " she tells you
