EPILOGUE

"I'm not in the mood to talk right now, Cal. Leave."

"We're not going to talk."

Pagod akong lumingon sa kaniya at tiningnan siya. Umupo lang siya sa upuan ng study table ko at binigyan ako ng tipid na ngiti. Umirap ako at binaon muli ang mukha ko sa unan.

It's been three days since Kyra left. I didn't know what to do for myself. I have no energy to do anything. This was the first time that I became someone I'm not. Someone who doesn't want to do anything. I filed consecutive sick leave so that the company couldn't disturb me. I just want to spend my days doing nothing.

Hindi nga ako kinausap ni Callum pero hindi rin siya umalis. He knew that I didn't want to talk about what happened. No one dared to talk about it. Pero ang kulit ng mga kaibigan ko at panay ang pangungulit sa akin. Ryle went here yesterday and had a drink with me.

Okay lang naman sa akin na nandiyan si Callum. I wanted to be alone but it's better if I'm with someone. At least, I can feel that there are still people who chose to stay with me. That whatever happens, these people, they won't leave me.

"Bro—"

Napalingon ako nang marinig si Archer. I smiled to myself when I saw how surprised both their faces when they saw each other. Hindi inaasahan na magkikita sa ganitong sitwasyon. They're like strangers now.

"Why are you here?" I broke the silence. Napalingon siya sa akin. Napalitan ng pag-aalala ang mukha niya nang makita ang hitsura ko. They were really not used to seeing me doing nothing, huh?

"Let's go out. You need fucking air."

"May hangin naman dito." Sagot ko.

"Iinom na natin 'yan, Giovanni. Libre ako ngayon. I cancelled my schedule."

"I didn't tell you to cancel your schedule."

"I know," napabuntong-hininga siya at lumapit sa akin. Umupo siya sa may paanan ko. "Hindi ako sanay makita kang ganito. Babae lang 'yan."

"Hindi siya babae lang." Masama akong tumingin sa kaniya.

"I know. Pero hindi ka na dapat magpaka-ganito dahil sa babae. You have to be strong. You have to tell yourself that once they leave, they will never come back. Kung nagawa ka nang iwanan, iiwan at iiwan ka pa rin niyan."

"Isn't that what you're doing?" Parehas kaming napalingon nang magsalita si Callum. Sumama ang tingin sa kaniya ni Archer. "You are telling an advice to him but in fact, you hurt people too and leave them."

"I have reasons." Malamig at galit na sabi ni Archer.

"Then Kyra has a reason too." Sagot muli ni Callum sa kaniya.

Napabuntong-hininga ako at bumangon. Tinapik ko na ang balikat ni Archer bago pa sila magsagutan.

"I know you are worried. Don't worry, I'll be okay."

Archer haven't realized that he was hurting other people through his actions and words too. He knows how it feels but he's not aware that he was actually doing the same. Maybe because that's how people treat him before when we were just kids. He doesn't want his friends to feel that too that's why he's worried for me.
