I have three older brothers. One of them never wants anything to do with me because I call him out on his bullshit. The other two have autism, and don't have much bullshit to deal with.
We also have chickens.
My second brother and I were washing up the eggs – there was lots. While we did that, I put on Streetwise, a movie filmed by Street Spirits Theatre Company in Prince George, BC. Everybody else was out of the house, taking supplies away to Hixon, which is a little community ten minutes it's away.
Streetwise is about a woman's story about drug abuse and hooking on the street. It's an intense film, dealing with intense topics. Street Spirits is known for that.
Once everybody else got home, my other brother, came over and watched the movie with us as we tidied up the eggs and started prepping things for supper.
They both liked the movie. They both didn't mind watching a film that wasn't as popular as some would think. They just wanted to watch a good movie.
Also, since it was filmed in PG, they kept pointing out places they recognized.
It was nice. Took us put of reality for a little while. Those boys are pretty smart – smarter than people give them credit for.
