"You look like you're going to be a menace to society today."

December 2024

"Dude, I'm going to be late for work! I've got to go!" Cecilia yelled out as she waited for Kate, the older girl insisting they walk together in the morning since they didn't have classes for the holidays.

"I'm coming will you shut it," Kate groaned as she hopped on one foot towards Cecilia while zipping her boot.

"Besides. Your dad is your boss I think you're safe," Kate added as they stepped out onto the snowy sidewalk. Cecilia gave her friend a look,

"Same goes for you ya know?" She replied with a small smirk knowing that Kate hated being reminded about where her future was heading with Bishop Security.

"Okay, I can't keep ignoring it. Who the hell is trying to kill you, Cece? Like this is twice now!"

"We don't know it's connected at all." The younger girl stated even if she wasn't sure she believed it herself. "Shouldn't we assume that it is though? I mean clearly, someone's got some beef with SheDevil, so who?"

Cecilia shrugged at her friend quietly, she honestly didn't know. She remembered every crime she's stopped and she didn't recognize the man who had wailed on her like there was no tomorrow.

"I'm only stopping petty crimes and robberies, it's not like I busted the holy grail of child trafficking or something." She sighed trying to ignore the group of 20-year-old men who were taking up the entirety of the sidewalk in front of them while walking rather slowly.

"I know but maybe we were on the right track with Connors," Kate whispered so the boys couldn't hear her.

"Oh I know we were, after everything I knew and then what Spider-Man told me...he's at the top of my list-" Cecilia was cut off when she accidentally walked into the back of one of the taller boys since he had stopped in the middle of the sidewalk.

Cecilia let out an irritated scoff and shoved him rather aggressively away from her.

"You're not the only fucking people in the world trying to get somewhere, so fucking move," She snapped giving the group a nasty glare as she pulled Kate past them so they could be in front this time.

"You're so scary!" Kate giggles as she looped her arm through Cecilia's and gave her a teasing squeeze.

"Just sick of privileged white males thinking they're the center of the universe," Cecilia explained as she walked Kate up to the door of her job.
