"My dad's blind, of course I learned sign language."March 2025
Thankfully, Maya was still in New York. In fact, she was even closer than Cecilia originally thought. Maya had moved to an apartment in Hell's Kitchen pretty close to where Karen lives.
Cecilia had been watching through the window for the better half of an hour, Maya had gone out for a run and would be returning shortly. So Cecilia broke in silently and waited on the woman's couch.
The brunette smiled softly as a cat came out from down the hall, the orange tabby giving her a soft meow before he rubbed himself against her ankles.
Cecilia had been smart enough to disable the alarms before entering so that she wouldn't have strobe lights blinding her while she waited. Another printed copy of the redacted list sitting on the coffee table in front of her as she scratched behind the cat's ears.
She didn't have any disdain towards Maya, I'm fact she knew how similar they were. They were both weapons crafted at the hands of Wilson Fisk, one that was made for him, and one that was made because of him.
She also knew that Maya failed to kill him on Christmas Eve, the security cameras outside the toy store showed her that much. So if anyone was feeling as much anger about this hit list as she was it would be Maya, if she even knew about it.
Cecilia could hear Maya's prosthetic coming up the stairs so she knew that she'd have her chance to ask all the questions that were on her mind, she just wasn't sure if the woman would answer them.
When the keys turned in the lock and light flooded in from the hallway Cecilia allowed the cat to jump down and greet his owner.
Maya turned the hallway corner and froze in the doorway of the living room. She scanned Cecilia's face before the recognition flashed behind her eyes.
"I'm not here to hurt you, I just want to talk," Cecilia both spoke and signed at the same time. Her sign language perfect and clear which surprised Maya greatly.
"So you break into my apartment?" Maya questioned not moving from her spot in the doorway.
"Didn't think you'd answer if I just stopped by," Cecilia replied with a soft shrug.
Maya chuckled softly and rolled her eyes. Cecilia was certainly right about that, but the fact that she wasn't in her suit calmed her immensely. A fight with Cecilia wasn't exactly something Maya wanted to do right now.
"What do you want?" Maya finally asked as she stepped into the room and sat in the chair across from the couch. Cecilia leaned forward and rested her elbows against her knees as she grabbed the list on the table and slid it over to her.
Maya's eyes scanned the paper, she was slightly confused with all the sharpied out information but she could put two and two together.
"What is this bullshit?"
"That would be the handy work of Wilson Fisk, everyone on this list has gotten in his way some how or another. I don't know a few of them, but I wanted to tell you."
