"Be safe."

January 2025

Cecilia sighed as she slowly stretched her legs out in front of her, meditation had failed her once again, something that wasn't all that surprising but still frustrating nonetheless. It had been a few days since she had passed out, and they simply couldn't piece together why. She had explained to her father and roommates that she figured it was due to her headaches, but she simply didn't know the cause of those either.

She was concerned about the incident, but she was also rather embarrassed by it, especially when she remembered that Peter had been there to witness the entire thing. He had witnessed a lot more things than Cecilia would have liked to admit. And it only got more embarrassing from there because he ended up carrying her back to their apartment while Yelena and Kate threatened him for wanting to go to the hospital. They knew Cecilia would freak out if she woke up there.

Although Kate and Yelena had told her that Peter had come by to see her the following day but she was asleep in an attempt to ease her embarrassment but that only made it worse. She didn't want him concerned about her, hell, she didn't even really want him to know anything about her, yet he had wormed his way in without trying.

Embarrassment was a relatively new feeling for Cecilia, she had always been a rather confident person because she knew that she was smarter than just about every person she talked to regardless of age. Even when she was younger and picked on by her classmates for being such a 'teachers pet' and 'freak', she simply turned the other cheek and befriended another outcast.

Cecilia was so confident in herself and her abilities when she was younger than she instilled confidence in a boy that had been perpetually tormented by his father when they were younger. She gave him the confidence to believe in himself and by doing that he was able to get away from the man and become someone else.

And despite all of that the idea of Peter Parker seeing her at her weakest made her chest burn and her stomach twist with anxiety. Cecilia knew why, she could identify those feelings and easily deduct what they meant, but she didn't want to.

Just once in her life Cecilia wished to be ignorant to the obvious. To be oblivious to the puppy dog stares and the flaming cheeks, she wanted to be able to look at the boy with complete confidence and say that he was just her friend.

Yet truthfully he was barely that, they had hung out on a few occasions, but none of those times ended in a way that either could expect. The time the spent together was never peaceful or overly joyful, and yet she felt drawn to him.

Cecilia felt like there was more to the boy than what meet's the eye, on the outside he was a struggling college student same as her, but beneath it all? Well she wasn't quite sure, but everything in her wanted to find out.
