"What are you two doing with your free time?"
December 2024
"Okay, so this isn't great. But at least you know good lawyers," Cecilia grimaced as they looked at the tv where a picture of Kate in her Ronin attire was pulled up on the screen for Armands Murder.
"Know good lawyers? I won't need lawyers! Right?" Kate exclaimed looking up to Clint who was walking into the room, his eyes in the tv with a scowl.
"No, I'm going to end this today. I know where to get the suit so you two just stay here."
"Stay here? I have work! My mom is going to be wondering where I am! I'm lucky she hasn't called me yet!" Kate nearly yelled as she stood to her feet desperate for help she looked over at Cecilia who nodded.
"Yeah, I need to check in with my dad..." She trailed off not wanting to be on the receiving end of a Clint's disapproval.
"No, you two need to stay here where it's safe, they know who you both are," Clint protested looking at them from over the kitchen counter with a frown.
"My mom owns a security business, it's literally the safest place I could be! And besides Cecilia's dad is dare-"
"Kate!" Cecilia yelled quickly covering her friend's mouth with her friend while shooting the girl a look of disbelief while Kate only rolled her eyes and gestured at the Avenger. "Ugh whatever fine. He's going to kill me," Cecilia complained before dropping her hand and turning to Clint who was looking between the two with a mix of amusement and irritation.
"My dad's Daredevil, the safest place in the city to me, is with him." Clint let out a deep sigh once he realized that this wasn't an argument that he was going to win.
"Isn't Daredevil dead?" He asked even though he knew full and well he wasn't.
"Clearly not, thought so like three times but he's like a god damn cockroach thankfully." Cecilia's tone was sarcastic but both people in the room could read the hurt underlining her tone.
"See, so just let us go," Kate pleaded stepping towards the older archer who let out a low groan before agreeing.
After dropping Kate off at work Clint started walking Cecilia to her father's her hands shoved deep into the ugly large sweater covering her body.
"You don't have to walk me," She said peeking up at the man who had his eyes straight ahead.
"Yes I do, the same reason we walked Kate," Clint replied in a rushed tone, clearly desperate to get this over with.
