"Oh, that's no good."
Thanksgiving 2024
While Kate Bishop spent a rather awkward dinner with her mother Cecilia ate Thanksgiving dinner with her random group of rag tag heroes that she called her family.
Matt sat at one end of the table with Foggy on one side and Karen on the other, Cecilia sat at the other end with Frank on her right next to Karen and Jessica on her left next to Foggy. Without Cecilia, Jessica would have been spending her night alone with a bottle of alcohol and Frank would have been stewing in self hatred and guilt. Yet here they were listening to the young girl as she spoke passionately about her disdain for tomatoes.
"Do you really have to put hot sauce on everything I cooked?" Karen asked with an amused tone as she watched to girl pour the sauce on top of her mashed potatoes. Cecilia bit back a smile before responding.
"Karen, I love you. But this needs some spice." Jessica laughed at the comment but tried to hide it behind her mug filled with spiked eggnog.
Karen, her father and Foggy dove into a conversation leaving Jessica, Frank and Cecilia sharing dark brooding looks. "Did you use that new gun I got you?" Frank asked as he shoved some green bean casserole in his mouth.
"No, not yet. I want to get nonlethal bullets," Cecilia explained earning an eye roll from the man but he knew she wasn't like him. "Defeats the purpose-"
"Frank, I know I didn't just hear you tell my daughter to use guns," Matt spoke up from the other end of the table his head tilted in the man's direction.
"She's a grown-up Murdock, accept it," Jessica replied in a short tone only earning eye rolls from several people at the table.
"I don't think he'll ever be able to accept that," Foggy added with a small smirk. "Although I have a hard time as well," He continued.
The family ate their dinner together in surprising peace, well as peaceful as people whose love language was making fun of one another could be. Cecilia and Jessica being the most ruthless which resulted in Karen demanding she and Matt switch seats, since apparently, she was a bad influence.

The day after Thanksgiving Cecilia found herself standing over Emily Whittmore's computer, Dr. Curtis Connor's secretary. Because of the holidays, the apartment hadn't been cleaned out yet and since it was a "suicide" very little was taken as evidence.
The girl's brown eyes scanned the woman's large calendar that sat on her desk, it was filled out all the way to January, why would someone who was going to end their life plan months ahead. Cecilia quickly took a picture of the calendar's pages with her phone, most things marked were just meetings or bills.
