"Yeah, she's so not doing that."

December 2024

The air was cold against the little bit of Cecilia's face that was showing behind her mask, although it was dark out there were enough Christmas and street lights up that the three could perfectly see the large apartment building across from them.

"You wanna tell us what we're doing here?" Kate wondered for the two of them as they glanced over to Clint who was looking through a pair of binoculars in between them.

"Something very important to me is pinging inside that apartment," He started which instantly perked Cecilia's interest, probably cool ex-Avenger gear, "It was stolen from a black-market auction. I need it back. No lights, no movement. This is our chance."

Kate let out a deep sigh as she eyed the building.

"This would have been easier if we were on a higher rooftop," The Bishop woman complained making Cecilia chuckle and shake her head.

"Dude, no way," She replied making Kate give her a confused look, her eyebrows furrowed and head tilted.

"Kate," Clint cut in gaining both of their attention, "you always wanna prioritize a quick exit over a quick entrance so when things go sideways, and they usually do, you have an exit strategy."

Clint didn't even notice that Kate and Cecilia shared a look before the girl in purple shrugged and grabbed her bow before heading down from the roof even though Clint was still talking.

"So, if either of you sees anything out here, just give me a signal," He explained before turning to Cecilia who gave him a firm nod, and then looking to where Kate was no longer standing, he spun around and faced the girl in red who simply held her hands up in an innocent gesture.

"Kate? Kate?"

Cecilia let out a breathy laugh when Clint looked over the edge of the building to see Kate walking across the street.

"There you are," Kate greeted over the comms, Cecilia could almost hear the smirk behind her best friend's words.

"I told you you're supposed to be the lookout," Clint complained only earning a chuckle from the other archer.

"Yeah, but of the three of us, who do you trust up there not to get distracted?"

"Hey! I would not get distracted!" Cecilia replied as she pressed a finger to the comms in her ear.

"That's not fair, that your inability to act like a grown-up helps you get your way," Clint snapped back making Cecilia nod in agreement as she had always been the more mature between the two even if Kate was several years older. She figured that was due to Cecilia having to grow up much faster than Kate did.
