"Shh, you're ruining the moment."
November 2024
"No! no, no, no," Kate called out when her eyes fell on Cecilia unconscious on the ground in a pool of her own blood. She noticed the hero had her mask pulled down around her neck and there was blood coating her mouth. The girl fell to her knees next to her friend and reached out letting out a sigh of relief when she felt her pulse against her fingers.
"Thank god." Kate breathed out as she gently pulled her friend into a sitting position and pushed the hair out of her face. "Cecilia, Cece. Hey," Kate whispered gently shaking her friend awake without hurting her further. This wasn't the first time Kate had to come to collect her friend after a fight, and after the first time she used her mother's company to track Cecilia's phone so it was easier.
Kate reached into her coat pocket and pulled out the smelling salts and then wafted them under her friend's nose watching carefully as Cecilia's nose scrunched up and she let out a groan while turning her head away. Kate sighed as she tossed the salt aside and cupped her friend's face turning her head to make eye contact.
"Oh, hey Katie." Cecilia's words were slurred together and her eyes unfocused but she was awake and that's what mattered so Kate nodded and gladly accept Cecilia's actions of her leaning forward to rest her forehead against her own.
"You scared the shit outta me-"
"Shh, you're ruining the moment."
Kate sighed but kept quiet for another few seconds knowing that her friend needed the comfort and gently ran her fingers through Cecilia's bloody and knotted ponytail. When Cecilia took a deep breath and pulled away she finally let Kate help her stand, her arm over the taller girl's shoulders.
"What happened?" Kate asked as they stumbled through the night streets, careful to avoid areas with any other people which resulted in a much longer trip.
"I uh-I went to the secretaries house and this guy-this guy was fucking huge. But he fucking wiped the floor with me," Cecilia explained, whenever she was in pain she swore far worse than she normally did, thanks to Jessica Jones who was always around and training her when she was younger resulting in the girl picking up her colorful vocabulary.
Finally, after much longer than needed they stumbled through the doorway of their apartment. Cecilia was swearing up a storm as Kate helped her peel her clothes from her body and then collapse on the couch in her underwear.
"I can't believe your dad doesn't know about your tattoo," Kate said as she used a wet cloth to help Cecilia clean her wounds, the two girls comfortable enough with each other that neither was fazed by the girl's lack of clothing.
