Getting up and moving about, and finding the large box of candles that I had put in the house was a new adventure. Soon I had my work station all ready for me to begin a new project. The candles burned brightly like the stars that glittered in the night sky outside my window. They assisted with the lighting, and soon I started a sketch for what I hoped would be a good "Thank you" to the Madrigals.

I started with Pepa, she liked the look of my flimsy loomed bracelet. Glancing down at it, I gave a wistful smile. Beadwork was a nearly meditative action, and I had found it while staying with my tia. Two years later, I was on my own going town to town selling my work. At first I only scraped money to get by, then almost overnight I had commissions up to my ears. Then I would run out of town, angry townsfolk in tow. Glancing at the sketch, I shook my head. A storm cloud wouldn't do as the main focal point of the piece. Pepa said something about clear skies.

Placing my pencil upon the paper again, I drew a stylized sun with two clouds to the back as if the skies were parting. Happy with the design and concept, I found my colors and began to loom beads with a calming rhythm.

I need a record player. I thought as I hummed, trying to fill the silence. Tomorrow I will see about getting one. Hopefully I won't have to leave this one behind. The steady drag through of the thread weaving between beads calmed my nerves. No matter what I knew I had myself and that's what mattered. I had no need for deep connections, or lovers, just the solitude of night and a needle with beads. Time passed quickly as I worked on the choker. Glancing at a clock I saw the hands pointing to two twelve. Stretching, I got up and made my way into the kitchen, retrieving the basket and rifling through it. Grabbing a few empanadas I ate in the silence. The gentle aching of my hands from hours of long tedious work melted away. Maybe Julieta can heal me with a meal. I mused.

Finishing my food, I returned to my work. The main beadwork of the necklace was finished. Shaking my head as the pre-dawn light trickled through the mountains, I looked at my scraps of leather. One piece fit and I rubbed a light oil across it, and began to fiddle with the design. Sighing while looking through my window as the early birds began filtering out of their homes. I decided a walk around town to make people less suspicious of me was in order.

Changing into a passable outfit and brushing out my wayward hair, I left with a basket and my coin purse. I did need new leather, and getting fitted for new clothes was a must.

The main square was already occupied by Julieta and a portable kitchen. She noticed me and waved me over.

"Buenos dias, Julieta!" Smiling, I walked over.

"Buenos dias! Did you sleep well? I feel like my familia interrupted your rest last night."

"Not at all, I am a rather light sleeper." That's a lie.

"Well, myself and the rest of the Madrigals can't wait to meet you! What do you have planned today?"

"I need some leather, and to restock my wardrobe. Oh! And I'm trying to locate a record player and a few records for when I'm beading, it can get a bit quiet by myself."

"Well the tannery is over there." Julieta pointed to a building, "and the seamstress should be taking orders over in that building." Julieta pointed again to another building. "And for that record player, my brother, Bruno has an old one he wants to get rid of. I'm sure he'd be happy to give it to a good home. I'm also sure he doesn't listen to all of his records and could find something you might enjoy."

"Oh, tell him I don't want to impose on his hospitality, especially if he has a friend he might want to give it to."

As I said that Julieta gave a small snorting chuckle. "Don't worry, he doesn't really know who to give it to."
