Dancing among the Stars

The few hours of rest passed us by quickly. Soft stolen kisses and reassurances guiding the hands of the clock. About a half an hour before we had to make our grand appearance, Casita waved the door to get my attention.

"Mi vida, we should get up. I think it's about time to go celebrate." I nudged Bruno who had curled into my side, and was lying on my skirt.

"Five more minutes?" He asked and I chuckled.

"Nope, because I have to fix your beautiful hair." I gently brushed a few wayward curls away from his eyes.

"Fine, only because I like when you run your fingers through my hair " He muttered sitting up and moving my skirt so he wasn't sitting on it.

Quickly I fixed his hair, giving him a light kiss behind his ear. I happily watched his blush spread across his cheekbones as I got up. Quickly adjusting the dress and smoothing it down with my hands, Bruno got up and stood beside me.

"I-" He said suddenly looking flustered. "You're so beautiful, are you sure you want to be my fiance?"

I looked over at him and put my hand up. "I already am, Bruno."

"Yeah, yeah, that's right." He muttered and looked at me bashfully.

"And I'd say yes again in a heartbeat."

He smiled softly and took my hand in his. "So, I get your first dance, right?" He asked.

"You get all of my dances. Although you are about to get your feet trampled."

He laughed and pulled me towards the door. We took the elevator down, stopping in the sand for a moment as Bruno pulled me close. "A kiss for good luck?"

"I don't need one, but if you do I will happily give you one." I said, pecking his lips.

"Why don't you need one?"

"Because I have you, Bruno Madrigal." I said with a smile.

"And I have you." He said with a chuckle.

We walked together to the entrance of his room. Both of us took a deep breath and walked through the threshold. The sounds of people arriving and the moving of things to make space for dancing arrived quickly to our ears. As we exited the stairwell Pepa and Julieta ran up to us.

"You two look perfect!" Pepa gushed, patting out a wrinkle in Bruno's shirt.

"Mama is going to announce you two, then you just go downstairs and enjoy the party." Julieta said smiling.

"Gracias." Bruno said nodding to his sisters.

"Oh, I am so happy for you Brunito!" Julieta squealed. "Four months and then you will be married, and then we will have a new hermana." Julieta winked at me, making me smile.

"Oh, and prepare for some questions. Dolores said that there's word of (y/n)'s gift and what that means for the Encanto." Pepa said.

"Gracias, Pepa. I'm ready whenever Alma is." I nudged Bruno with my hip.

He looked at me fondly. "I am too."

"Good luck!" They said and smiled at us. They left to go downstairs, and Alma walked out from her door giving us a nod.

She walked to the top of the stairs and the people gathered below her quieted. "We have watched the Madrigal family grow, and with it our miracle, our Encanto." I inwardly cringed at that. "Today we welcome the blessing that my son, Bruno Madrigal, has found the love that will make us stronger."

Bruno held out his arm and I placed my hand in the crook of it. Leaning into the warmth of his body as we walked forward.

"(Y/n) was blessed with a gift to walk in the dreams of others, and will stand by my son's side to make the miracle strong. She will do so for the Encanto." Alma said, smiling at the people gathered below. Bruno stiffened and looked over at me.
