Only a couple weeks out from Casita being rebuilt, I pulled Camilo aside.

"Hijo," I whispered, ensuring Mira wasn't in the room. "I have a proposition for you, in regards to your prima."

"Okay." He said with a mischievous grin, "What are you thinking, mi madre dos?"

"How long would it take the two of us, in your opinion to paint a door mural? Mira never got a special door and I want to surprise her." I whispered to him.

"Two days max." He said and I grinned. "How about two nights?"

"You are planning on us sneaking out of the house and up to Casita?" He asked, his eyes going wide.

"It wouldn't be sneaking persay, your Tio Bruno already knows my plan. The hard part will be keeping Mira away from her door, but I have a plan." I gave him a mischievous smile of my own. "I'm going to take Mira into town with Bruno and I. You and your papi need to go take down her door. Place it somewhere you and I can easily work. We're going to take her to pick out things for her first room, along with Julieta and Agustin. Then we are going to put things together for her room, saying that we didn't want to have to deal with hauling things in with the door in the way."

"Does papi, Tia Julieta and Tio Agustin know the plan?"

"Not at all. This is a secret between me, you, and your Tio Bruno." I said with a smile.

Camilo's eyes lit up, just like the day he asked me if Bruno snores. "I'll need new paints, and a sketch. Tia we have so much to do! When do we get started?"

"Two days before we give her the doorknob." I said and he nodded. I pulled out a coin purse. "This should get you everything you need. I want to see sketches, multiple, Milo. Then we decide which to go with."

He nodded and places the coin purse in a pocket. "Should I make it look like our old doors?"

"Give it some thought, remember, when it comes to design the first draft may not be the best."

"And always think outside the box." He added with a big grin. "I'm very excited for this, gracias for trusting me with this big secret, mi madre dos."

"You're the man for the job, I wouldn't pick anyone else." I said ruffling his curls as he ran up to the workroom.

Julieta laughed as Camilo ran into the workroom to start sketching. "What has Milo so excited?" She asked me.

"Can't tell you, it's a surprise." I said with a glint in my eyes.

"Fine, keep your secrets, herm-" She blushed and stammered trying to backpedal. "Sorry, (Y/n)."

I stepped forward and put my hands on her shoulders. "It's alright hermana." I said softly. Her eyes got huge and she quickly wrapped me in a hug.

"Can I call you that again? I am so terribly sorry, and you've delt with my shit for so long. I never thought you would let me call you that again." She said and I felt her light sobs through the hug.

"You have my permission to call me hermana again, Julie. You have put in so much work to do better. I'm so proud of you. You even have talked to Bruno and worked on fixing everything. And I think our vow renewal really showed that."

She tightened her embrace and I did the same. "Just don't threaten me with a knife again, please hermana."

"No, I'm done using threats and violence. That little pot exercise you and Isa do had really helped with that." She let go of me and wiped a few tears from her face. "Bruno has always been right. You are too good for this world, hermana."
