Pepa and Julieta were somehow the most disorganized but useful people to help plan a wedding. We wouldn't have gotten through it without Felix and Agustin. My methodical ways seemed to help at least a bit. Bruno would give ideas here and there, but a majority came down to me.

"As long as I marry you, none of the extra things matter." Bruno assured me many times over the four months that we planned everything. Of course I would remind him that it was his day as well and he'd blush and mumble under his breath.

Felix, as I assumed, knew his way around a good party. Agustin, although a clumsy mess most of the time kept Julieta from adding unnecessary things to our growing list of colors, ideas, and plans.

Soon, my days were filled with occasional visits from parents whose kids had nightmares, none bad enough that I got seriously hurt. On those days Bruno would stay at my house, making sure to have Julieta's food nearby. Every other day was happily filled with Mirabel exploring embroidery, which she seemed to prefer to beadworking. We worked slowly through the book I had bought, and she absolutely loved it. Dolores joined us most days quietly observing as I worked.

Alma generally avoided even speaking to me. She did spare me a few glances at meal times, and slowly they evolved into trusting looks of pride. It somehow made my skin crawl that by following her thin line of rules, I was being deemed a proper Madrigal in her eyes.

One night as myself, Bruno, Pepa, Julieta, Agustin, and Felix sat around planning what we were calling "The craziest Madrigal Marriage", Pepa spoke up.

"So mama doesn't seem to dislike you as much as she used to."

"Just wait until Bruno and I get married." I said and smiled down at the notebook we were taking notes in. The very first thing written in it was 'Let everyone use their gifts as they see fit.'.

"She isn't going to be happy that it's not perfect." Julieta agreed, and Agustin nodded next to her.

"Let her be mad." I shrugged. "All that matters to me," I said putting my hands in Bruno's, "Is that at the end of that day, I will be married to the man I love."

"Awww." Julieta giggled.

"You two are worse than Pepi and I!" Felix laughed.

"That isn't possible." Bruno laughed. I happily absorbed the scene. This was what I wanted, Bruno happy and surrounded by those who love him. Soaking in the near perfection of the moment, I laid my head on his shoulder.

"I mean just look at you two!" Agustin added. "The perfect picture of a happy couple."

I blushed and looked at Bruno who smiled down at me, and kissed the top of my head. "It's her fault, I swear." He said.

Pepa and Julieta smiled at me and looked at the scene happily. Setting down her glass of wine, Julieta spoke up.

"So only a few days until we go and visit Selena and do a final fitting for the dress." She reminded me.

"I am honestly so thankful that she already gave me permission to add embellishments to it. I may have a plan." I smiled ruefully.

"You have that look in your eye, what's the plan?" Pepa asked.

I hummed happily, "Oh, Mirabel is doing embroidery on the dress." I said offhandedly. "Of course, Alma will be coming to the fitting, but she will not see the hard work Mira and I are going to put into it."

Julieta stilled and looked at me like I was crazy. "You're allowing my four year old to embroider your wedding dress?"

"Kid's got skills. And do you know how happy and proud she's going to be knowing she got to help 'make' her Tio Bruno's bride's wedding dress?"
