I Would Have You In My Dreams Forevermore (Bruno Madrigal x female reader)

Before the Public Betrothal

We curled up in his bed, and in our dream we made a plan. Basically we just planned to elope if things went sideways. We would do what we could to follow Alma's rules, but if I didn't meet her standards we would elope. Bruno kissed me deeply in his dream and we awoke to a very busy day.

"Betrothal day." I groaned as Bruno turned over to me.

"Ugh, people." He smiled, his eyes dancing with joy.

"Gotta fight with people, I forgot about that part."

"Why will you be fighting people?" Bruno asked, lightly kissing my collarbone.

"Because I love my fiancé." I said with a smile, bringing my arm out of the warm blankets. I let my fingers get tangled in his hair as I brought his mouth to mine.

I smiled into the kiss. Bruno looked at me and smiled. "Brave little warrior."

"Stay in bed a bit with me? Just for-" a knock came at the door. "Ugh!"

"Get up lovebirds, busy day!" Julieta said from behind the door.

"Five more minutes?" I asked and Julieta laughed.

"Nope, breakfast will be cold if the two of you don't come downstairs."

"Fine!" I said and looked at an amused Bruno. "I hate mornings!"

He gave a lopsided grin and got up. He threw on some clothes, but I realized that it wasn't what he was going to be wearing for the announcement.

"You're cute when you don't want to get out of bed." He said.

"You're cute when you are in bed. With me." I said cringing as my feet hit the cold stone of his floor.

"Oh, am I?" He asked with a smile as he ran a hand through his curls.

"Who am I kidding, you're always so cute. Also we need to get a rug or something by the bed. Floor's cold."

"We can look while we're in town, amor." He said and kissed my forehead.

Quickly getting dressed and grabbing my jewelry, we walked out to see Julieta tapping her foot. "About time, what were you two doing?"

"I don't like mornings and your hermano was forcing me to get up."

"I did no such thing." Bruno laughed. I took his hand and Julieta smiled at us.

"Pepa went and got your dress. Do you need anything else from up here?" She asked and I shook my head.

"Just Bruno." I said holding up our intertwined hands. She rolled her eyes and looked between us.

"So, when are we moving your things here?" She asked and I thought about it.

"Amor, do you think it would be alright to keep my place in town. I can work there and do dream walking there, so I don't have to climb the stairs a million times?"

"Sounds reasonable." Bruno nodded.

"Then I will just bring some clothes and supplies here, and keep everything else at my house. But I will live here." I smiled at Julieta.

"Mama may not like that, but it is reasonable." Julieta warned.

"Alma doesn't like a lot of things about me. I don't mind." We continued down the stairs, I clutched onto Bruno. My mind began to betray my happy thoughts and I clung onto the real representation of why I was doing this.

"You almost seem more nervous than I am." He said.

I looked at him and at Julieta. "I'm a-" I paused. "Well you know. I am just scared."
