It had been almost 5 years since Farren's world got flipped upside down. She moved across the country, got new friends, even a new relationship. Things finally seemed okay.
Until he came crashing back into her life when she least expected it.

"So please tell me again why we're having to stop and get breakfast, even though we both literally already ate at your house not even 30 minutes ago, before we get on the road for 8 hours??" You huffed crossing your arms over your chest.
It was currently 8:15 in the morning, which was entirely too early for you on a Saturday. You and Jake were in his 4Runner and supposed to be heading up the mountains to the cabin where Sam, Danny, and Josh were waiting for you. Although you had exaggerated the length of the car ride by a long shot, it was still going to be roughly a 4ish hour car ride to get there and you were not looking forward to it at all.
"Yeah well I never said I was getting us something to eat did I?" Jake rolled his eyes over at you from the drivers seat, "I just have to grab a to go order then take it to Arthur's before we head to the cabin."
At the mention of Arthur your heart swelled in your chest. You had such a soft spot for that sweet man.
"Well you should've just said it was for Arthur to begin with and I wouldn't have given you attitude. Or questioned you.....wait, no actually I still think I'm going to ask, why are you random getting him breakfast..?"
"It's not random. Today is his birthday so I just wanted to buy him his favorite meal from Sun Diner since we're going out of town and can't really celebrate with him." He shrugged.
How could you have forgotten??
"Oh my god I feel awful. I didn't even get him anything!" You whined, "And I'm not going to be able to now because it wouldn't be something heartfelt and thought out, it would just be something random I could find at the store!!"
"Farren just seeing you today will be enough of a gift for him." Jake laughed as he pulled into a spot conveniently right in front of Sun Diner, "Okay I called it in before we left so hopefully I won't have to wait long. I'll be right back."
You shrugged, "No worries. Not like we have a time schedule."
"Ohhh okay so now that you know it's for Arthur we "don't have a time schedule"" he grumbled as you watched him hop out of the car and head into the restaurant.
To your delight, when you woke up this morning and checked the weather it was a crisp 58 degrees. Granted it was first thing in the morning but it had slowly started to cool off even more since it was closing in on Fall...next week to be exact and you couldn't have been any more excited. The "ber" months were your absolute favorite. Especially October because Halloween was your favorite holiday. This time of the year always made for the best memories.
