Lia's Point of View

Pumunta kaagad kami ni Trevor sa hospital.

We bring the three victims on a private room

He warned the doctors and nurses that if anyone knows about where the victims are, he will punish them by law. Iniwan ko na sila at pumunta ako sa emergency room. I guided the guy which I think was the pop star's lover. They are really close in the event and I don't think that they did that for a play.

I gave him the big jacket that fits him and the bucket hat of the GKN which I never returned yet. I just think that he needs it in case that there will be a fan of his, blocking his way again. He looks tired and I know that he is really worried about the condition of the pop star.

Sky is my brother's friend. They are both members of Crimson's local singers and dancers. I know him.

But I am not a fan, especially when my brother brags about them.

We entered the room where the patients are. His parents are here, along with the three ladies who are now resting.

But Trevor isn't here.

The guy's parents comforted him but no used. He is mentally broken and I believe that he will be alright.

"Mukhang hindi kayo makakalabas ngayon, siguradong mas darami ang tao sa labas ng hospital." Trevor came in the room

"Nakausap ko na ang doctor. If you need something, sabihin niyo---"

"Who are you?" Sky asked.

"I am a police officer and a guest at the event. I am with that reporter over there and don't worry, you can trust us."

He confidently said like we never did a mistake which is gate crashing.

"Napatay na ng mga bumbero ang sunog. Sa tingin ko, kailangan niyo nang magpahinga. The police will be interrogating you tomorrow for the cause of fire. You can refuse to answer if you want, so, don't worry."

No one speaks after him. They all agreed to rest and so do I?

I needed it now more than ever.

I sat on the sofa near the window. Trevor sat with me but I didn't even give him a single attention. My eyes are sleeping on their own as I felt him rested my head on his shoulder.

I felt the comfort and warmth of his body on my sleep. But it didn't last.

I don't know how long I slept but I woke up on Trevor's arms. He is holding me tightly enough not to let me go. How can a sleeping man do that?

I slowly take his arms off me but I woke him up. He quickly grabbed my arms as if I am a criminal he is holding or what.

I silently groaned in pain.

Tinanggal niya kaagad ang kamay niya sa mga braso ko nang makita na ako ang babalian niya ng braso.

Imbes na magalit o mainis, bigla akong nakaramdam ng lungkot.

Siguradong mahirap para sa kanya na matutunan ang ganon kabilis na defensive reflex. Maybe he learned it from a bad situation from his past he never talked about. From the coldness of his presence, until the first time I met him up to his mysterious identity I never knew, I am sure that he is not that fine.

Nag-iwas ako ng tingin sa kanya. Ayokong mag-isip ng kung anu-ano tungkol sa kanya. Nakita ko ang iba pang mga tao sa loob ng kwarto na natutulog. Behind their sleep was the night they encountered. Naaawa ako sa batang babae na naging biktima sa sunog. I am sure that she will bring this nightmare up to the future.

I silently sighed before I stood up. Trevor followed me when I get out of the room. Pumunta ako sa fire exit para bumaba.

"Saan ka pupunta? Just tell me what you need, magpahinga ka na lang sa kwarto." he said.

"Gusto ko lang magpahangin at bumili ng kape." sabi ko sa kanya na hindi man lang lumilingon.

Naalala ko ang sinabi niya sa akin kanina. I can feel that it is true and I know that it is obvious.

We quietly walked down the stairs. We are almost on the bottom of the building when he grabbed my arm. I forcedly look at him.

"Galit ka ba sakin? Did I do something wrong? I'm sorry--"

"Wala." I cut him off. He is not the problem here, I am. "May iniisip lang ako. Wag mo akong intindihin." sagot ko bago hilahin ang braso ko mula sa kanya.

Dumiretso na ako sa cafeteria ng hospital. Bumili ako ng apat na kape na siguradong kailangan ko.

Binigyan ko si Trevor ng isa bago kami umakyat na ulit sa kwarto kung nasaan ang mga biktima ng sunog.

We saw two of them are awake. We talked about the fire that they obviously don't want to talk about. Nagising ang mga magulang ng lalaki at nag-away din sila.

I can see how smart and brave the pop star is. She even knows me. But she is not on the right state of mind to talk calmly. She stormed out of the room.

Trevor told me to follow her and I just did. I still need to put her under my protection from other people, whether her fans or not.

I saw her in the fire exit. I sat on her side and talked. I can see how hard it is for her. The fire isn't something someone easily deals with. Even firemen have their hard time to take those off.

"I saw you before." I said after a few silent moments. " Ang sabi mo dati you are dying. Who would have known that you will be a hit?" I asked, trying to lighten up her mood.

"Oo, may sakit nga ako." she admitted. "But I am healing. Maraming malulungkot kapag nawala ako." she replied.

I decided to go after few more moments. Nakapag-isip-isip na rin ako.

Life is too short. And valuable.

Pumasok ako sa kwarto at nakita na lahat sila ay nakatingin sa akin. I looked at Sky before I speak.

"Nasa fire exit siya sabi niya, Sky." I calmly said to the guy who rushed out of the room.

Tumingin ako kay Trevor bago ngumiti. Naupo ako sa sofa. Tumabi ulit sa akin si Trevor.

"Are you going to sleep? We just had coffee, you know." he stated.

"Hmm." I agreed. "But coffee is the drink I need to sleep." I said before I smile.

I rested my head on the sofa until he rested his head on my shoulder. I felt something choking me even though I am normally breath.

I slowly stretched my arm and put in on his shoulders. I gently tapped his head until I fell asleep.
