Katie P.O.V
It's crazy to think that at the age of 23 I'm already married and expecting a child. Some people haven't even thought about those things at this age and now I'm not too sure if those people are right or not. I mean you always dream about it being a fairytale and when I got to a certain age I knew it wouldn't be quite like that yet I still hoped that it would be as perfect as it could be. I'm not saying that I don't love Brad and that I don't want this anymore it's just that things between us are far from perfect.
"So what time is your appointment?" Harriet asked me as I walked into the kitchen. Her and Livi had stayed at mine last night for a mayor catch up since it's been so long since we've all been together, Megan couldn't make it but I think Harriet was going to see her today.
"It's at 11, do you want me to drop you at Megs on the way?" I replied.
"If you could that would be great" she smiled before getting a bowl out the cupboard for her cereal.
"What is all the noise about?" Livi asked, rubbing her eyes, as she walked into the kitchen about 5 minutes later.
"We were only making breakfast" Harriet replied.
"Only? It sounded like you were flipping redecorating or something"
"That's a bit of an exaggeration" I laughed, "even though I suppose we weren't exactly being quiet"
"Yeah tell me about it, you woke me up" Livi moaned.
"Well that's not exactly a hard thing to do is it, your the lightest sleeper I've ever met" I replied.
"I know it's a curse" Livi sighed, "and totally not fair"
"Maybe you should sleep with ear muffs on then" Harriet laughed.
"That's actually a good idea" livi smiled, "I'll try it next time"
As I was already done, after having breakfast I sat and watched TV for a while whilst I waited for them to shower and get changed.
"You ready to go?" Livi asked walking into the living room and I just nodded "Katie what's wrong?"
"He's not coming is he" I replied.
"I don't think so" she sighed, "I'm sorry Katie"
"It's fine, I kind of expected it so I don't know why I bothered getting my hopes up about it"
"It's because he should be here" Harriet chipped in, "this is a big thing and he's stupid if he's going to miss it"
"It's just another scan" I shrugged.
"But how many of the others has he been too?"
"Well none"
"Exactly, he's not putting the effort in for you Katie when he should be" Livi added.
"But it's not his fault, the other scans were either before he knew or when he was working so..."
"Don't make excuse for him" Harriet said.
"I can't help it, I have to find excuses because it's the only way I tell myself that I'm not alone in all this"
"Your not alone" Livi smiled, reassuring me.
"Yeah one of us can come with you if you like" Harriet added.
"No it's fine, you guys already have plans, I'll be fine"
"Are you sure?" Livi asked.
"Yes" I smiled "now come on, we need to go"
We then left the house and I dropped Harriet at Megan and Connors and Livi back at her apartment before making my way to the hospital. I was a little early so whilst in the waiting room I read some magazines for a bit and scrolled through my phone until I heard my name being called. I followed the nurse through to the ultra sound room, still kind of hoping I wouldn't have to do this alone.
