"I love this song" I beamed as Mr Brightside by The Killers came on the radio and I turned up the volume.

"But it's just the price I pay, destiny is calling me, open up my eager eye, cause I'm Mr Brightside" we sang at the top of our voices as the chorus started before bursting out laughing.

Brad and I had just had a meeting with the midwife where we were finalising the birth plan and just double checking through some things as essentially from now the baby could come any minute, it's not likely too because I still have about 6 weeks to go but it could. So to make sure that we were prepared we went out to get some of the essentials that we hadn't picked up yet like wipes and nappies as well as getting our weekly shop.

"How many of these shall I get?" Brad asked as he placed one large box of nappies into our trolley.

"Umm four maybe?"

"Four?"

"Yeah, we're going to need a lot"

"Okay" Brad sighed grabbing another box from the shelf.

We must of spend about half and hour in the baby aisle alone before moving onto the rest of the shop to get our usual food as well as a couple extra bits like some Ben and Jerry's ice cream and Jaffa cakes which were conveniently on offer AND I was craving them. We then headed back to the baby aisle, much to Brad's annoyance as I'd remembered I had a leaflet in my bag with an essentials checklist on so I wanted to make sure that we had everything on the list, and luckily we did so Brad quickly turned the trolley out of that aisle and as we were in no rush we headed over the the clothing section in Asda. I couldn't help with Awh as we browsed through the racks of new born clothes and as I looked over, even Brad had a smile plastered on his face. There's just something about tiny shoes and shorts that no one can resist.

"Can we go pay now?" Brad asked as I put the last handful of clothes in the end compartment of the trolley.

"Yes we can" I replied.

"Finally" he sighed.

After waiting about 10 minutes in the inevitable queues at the supermarket we finally reached our turn at the checkout. We started piling things on as the people ahead of us finished off paying and then Brad headed to the end to start packing whilst I continued to pile our purchases on the conveyer belt.

"I'll go take this to the car" Brad mouthed to me after placing, or should I say balancing, the final bag in the trolley and I nodded before turning back to the cashier to finish off paying before heading out to the car park about 3 minutes later.

I walked across the gravel towards where our car was parked and as I got closer I could see Brad shut the boot but he didn't move round to the drivers side of the car, instead he stood at the rear of the car and appeared to be talking to someone who at the minute was being blocked by the car beside ours. I stayed a few aisles away but moved round so that the person stood opposite Brad became more visible and my mouth fell open as I realised it was none other than the bitch who tried to ruin everything for us all those months back. The person who I was hoping I would never have to see again yet still assumed she'd be back in our lives at some point, hopefully not bearing the news I've feared ever since she showed up with her daughter. And it seems that point has come sooner than hoped as across from Brad stood Emily.

I weaved through the cars around them, which appeared very difficult considering I am no longer as thin as I once was, now carrying a 7 month baby bump. None the less I did my best attempt to get as close as I could so I could hear what they were saying. I stopped behind a people carrier and from here I could faintly hear them but not clear enough to make out exactly what they were saying. I decided to move forward a bit so I made my way to the mini that was parked in front of our car, it wouldn't block me as well as the people carrier but I hoped they wouldn't see me. As I shuffled across I tripped on a hole in the ground and swore under my breathe before quickly ducking as I saw Brad's head turn in my direction. I was sure he had seen me as soon as the talking stopped, I held my
breathe but let it out again in a sigh of relief as soon as the conversation continued.
