Scared

Melody's POV

I felt Cassie shaking me. I groaned and rolled over what time is it?

1:34am!

"Cassie what do you want?" I said quietly.

"I can hear someone in the kitchen!" She spoke quietly.

I smirked, "Cassie?"

"Yeah." Her voice quivered.

"Are you scared?" I laughed quietly.

"What? No!" She smiled pushing me.

"Can I get under the covers with you though?" She asked.

"Yeah. Of course!"

She hopped under the sheets.

"When is Alisha getting back from her date?" I asked.

"I don't know actually." She answered curiosity in her eyes.

I heard a crash of pans down stairs and felt Cassie stiffen beside me.

"Go check it out!" She whispered.

"What? No you!" I giggled.

"I will follow behind you." She said angrily.

I walked down the stairs quietly when I heard a groan of pain.

Hang on.

I know that groan. I rushed downstairs and saw none other than Chase Wellington.

He looked different. I look closely and gasped, "Oh my god! Chase are you drunk!" I hastily whispered.

"Melody? Is that you?" He slurred and stumbled over.

"Chase what are you doing here?" I crossed my arms.

He walked over to me hugging me while quietly say, "Lock and shut all the doors and windows."

"Why?" I asked.

"Just do it now Melody." He hissed.

I looked back at Cassie nodding and telling her to lock up everything.

I led Chase to the couch laying him down.

He stood up mumbling, "No No No."

"Chase you need to sleep now." I said.

"Not on the couch." He looked me straight in the eye.

I nodded, "Okay sit down let me grab you some panadol and water."

I did exactly that and brought it to my room.

I went downstairs and helped Chase up, "C'mon."

He draped his arms around me while I helped him up the stairs. I laid him down on my bed and began to walk away. I heard a knock on front door and went to go get it.

Chase grabbed my arm from the bed and said, "Don't."

I nodded confused and told Cassie not to get it. I heard people bang on the door.

"Chase it might be Alisha!" I said.

He shook his head, "No Melody it isn't!"

"Chase who is it?"

"Melody, leave it."

I huffed and tried to remember the name of the guy Alisha went on a date with. Then it came to me. I know that name. I know him.

It was Tim.

"Chase who was going after you?" I spoke slowly.

He looked me in the eye and spoke without any hesitation, "It was Jedd."

I froze in my spot.

"Chase..... Alisha is on a date with Tim." I said fear evident in my voice.

He pulled me closer with me sitting beside him, "I know. Don't worry she is with Brock."

I nodded a shiver of fear ran up my spine.

"I just need Derrick and Nathaniel here okay Melody. Jedd, Roderick, and Tim are on the other side of your front door." He spoke calmly.

I felt my heart quicken. I nodded and stood up.

"Melody." I shook my head.

"I know what to do. Chase do you have your phone."

He shook his head.

"Okay okay." I said pacing back and forth.

"Cassie!" I heard her footsteps enter the room.

She had both her hands around her stomach and she actually looked scared.

Cassie was scared.

Cassie never gets scared.

"Okay Cassie breathe, I need you to go out the window and run to the parking lot you hear me?"

She nodded.

"Get in your car and drive to Brocks."

I placed both of my hands on her shoulders pulling her into a hug.

"I want you to pick up Derrick and Nathaniel."

I looked at her and saw that same fierce Cassie that I have always seen before.

"Okay Cassie?"

"Yeah I got this."

She went to leave the room.

"Cassie?" My voice cracked.

"Yeah?" She looked at me.

I rushed up to her giving her another hug,"Be careful."

She nodded and went to the window that could lead her to the parking lot.

She looked back, "You too Mel you too. Love you!"

I smiled, "Love you to Cass."

I went back to my room to see Chase was still in bed. He looked up at me with a small smile.

"Uh Chase?"

"Yes Melody."

I went beside him and laid down.

I felt tears well up in my eyes, "I am scared."

I felt his arms wrap around me, "Don't be."

I smiled and nodded.
