Melody's POV

"Melody, wake up." I heard someone whisper in my ear. I groaned stretching my arms out, I pried my eyes open and saw a large figure at the front of my bed. Once my eyes adjusted to my surroundings I saw Derrick.

My eyebrows furrowed, "What are you doing here?"

"We are leaving in ten minutes." Was all he said.

I suddenly remembered that we had to get to the house before Jedd. I went to my closet picking out black clothes since Derrick was wearing all black I assumed that I had to as well. I grabbed black skinny jeans, black tank top, and a dark hoodie. Popping on some black combat boots, I put the hoodie over my pony tail, which I brushed out before. Making my way downstairs I left Cassie and Alisha a note saying that I have left to go somewhere. I met Derrick out the front of the building and we started our trek towards the abandoned house.

I glanced at Derrick and then back to the foot path. I felt the need to say something in this silence, since I could literally touch the tension, but decided against it. All you could hear were the patters of our feet colliding with the floor.

I saw Derrick sigh and look at me, "Chase wasn't happy that you made this decision you know?"

"Yeah, but I figured it would be better if he knew that people were there to support him." I stated.

Derrick looked at me with admiration in his eyes, "That is very nice of you to say Melody."

I smirked and said proudly, "I know."

Derrick let out a chuckled and hesitated to keep the conversation going.

I decided to end his torture and said, "Where are we hiding?"

"I found this room next to the living room and you can hear everything there. We just need to make sure that we hide as well because knowing Jedd he will check the whole house." Derrick said he looked at me and also firmly said, "You know Chase just wants to protect you."

"Why? Why does he want to protect me?" I asked that question I have been dying to ask.

"Because everything he can't protect ends up getting hurt, the other part you are just going to have to figure out for yourself." He explained.

**

We finally made it to the house, me puffing out air and Derrick acting as if we didn't walk or run for ages. He made a hand signal to say 'follow me', so I did. I seemed to be following everyone lately, it is getting annoying. I made my own way in the house by the back window. Derrick groaned but trailed after me angrily.

"Why didn't you just follow me?" He whispered.

"I wanted to go my own way." I whispered back.

He nodded and led me towards the room, it was a door that blended into the wooden wall, but you could tell that it was a door by the door knob placed in the middle. He opened it slowly and told me to go first. I did and looked around the area. There were no lights and no windows. It had black walls and a lot of dusty crates. There was one hole through a wall and when I put my eye against it you could see into the living room. Derrick moved some of the crates to where the hole is located and we hid inside them making sure our entire form was inside the four crates. I suggested looking through the hole and he agreed.

"Wanna play a game while we wait?" He asked leaning over to me.

"Sure, what game?" I replied with.

"Rock, Paper, Scissors." He stated looking at me seriously.

I chuckled but held out my hand.

**

It has been two hours of Derrick and I playing rock paper scissors. So far he has won fifty times and I have won sixty.

Now sixty one.

"You are obviously cheating." He said looking at me.

"No I am not." I heard the door creak open and we stayed deadly silent. Footsteps were scurrying around the room until they came up to our crate. I held my breath and so did Derrick.

They walked away yelling out, "They aren't in here!"

I let out a breath full of relief and Derrick made hand gesture to say 'be quiet.' I nodded and looked through the peep hole. Chase was getting dragged into the room by Roderick and another guy. Jedd followed after him.

"So you didn't bring anyone?" He asked.

"No, I told you that." Chase ground out.

"Good." Jedd said smirking. He told the men to let go of Chase and they did reluctantly.

Jedd slowly walked over to the couch and sat down entwining his fingers together, "So... Have you brought the diamonds?" He said raising one eyebrow.

"No, I haven't I told you to get more, if you want them that bad." Chase snapped back.

"Those diamonds are more valuable than any of the others in the world." Jedd roared back.

"They are worth fifty million dollars." A new voice entered the conversation. A voice I know too well.

Trent.

"Who are you?" Chase glanced at him.

Trent brushed a hand through his black hair and his blue eyes glared at Chase, "Trent, I am sure you have heard of me."

Chase growled and stormed over to him, "Too much actually. What you did was pathetic."

Trent barked out a laugh, "Pathetic, she was boring me. It is not my fault."

Chase held his fist up and punched Trent right in the gut; crouching down to Trent's level he whispered something in his ear. I looked at Derrick a little worried and he said in a hushed tone, "Don't move."

I nodded, and looked back into the peep hole. Chase stood up from his crouching position so did Trent shooting daggers at Chase.

"Anyways, you give those diamonds back to me by Wednesday next week or else," Jedd said trying to sound scary, but failing dramatically.

Chase chuckled and looked up at him, "And what if I don't?"

"Melody." Trent said smirking in his direction.

Seriously? What is their deal with me?

"Please, you wouldn't hurt her after all you can't risking killing someone again after Felicity." Chase spoke the last word with hurt and pain laced through it.

Jedd cruelly laughed, "Felicity isn't dead. We just made you think that."

Chase's expression dropped and he looked hurt but then his poker face went back up and he said, "If she isn't dead, where is she? I know you are lying."

"Trust me, I am not lying, we only did it to teach you a lesson and cause you pain." Jedd snarled.

"You are lying!" Chase screamed.

"No he isn't." A soft voice said.

A brunette girl stepped out of the shadows. I thought Chase said she was blonde.

"Felicity?" Chase quivered.

It took me a minute to actually recognise the girl until it finally hit me. I fell down looking down astonished about the girl I just saw.

Felicity is Karen.
