Melody's POVI made a swift right turn down a lane and saw Linda's roof peeking beneath the tall buildings. I jogged the rest of the way and reached her gate. Walking up her porch steps I started to think about what I have witnessed.
I can't be jealous. Right? I mean it is just Chase.
I saw Linda's head through the crack of the door and she opened it fully with a warm smile.
"Hey! Why did you text me?" she with curiosity in her eyes.
"Oh, it was just I saw Chase and Molly." I said with a hint of sadness. I felt a pang in my gut about the memory and looked down.
"Come in." she ushered me inside, closing the door after.
She led to to the living and boiled some tea, once she was finished she wandered over and sat next to me sipping on her tea.
"So... are you going to tell me?" she asked cocking an eyebrow.
I rolled me eyes and had a small smile, "Sure, it was just I guess I saw them kissing and I felt sick, but not a ill feeling, as if my gut was churning and I felt like I wanted to cry. I can't be jealous right?" I said confessing everything I felt to her.
She smirked, "Maybe, you just like him? Ever thought of that?"
"Yes, but I can't." I stated.
"Why? Why can't you like him?" She said leaning forward a bit.
"Because, he is just trouble, and... and" I trailed off, I honestly don't know.
"Exactly, you have no idea why! You must like him." She explained looking me directly in the eyes.
"But he doesn't like me back; I mean he was kissing Molly." I admitted in defeat.
"The real question is, did she kiss him first? Or did he?" she grinned and knew she had me right where she wanted.
I came to a realization, "She kissed him first."
Linda chuckled and punched my arm lightly, "See, problem solved."
I had a bright smile and said, "Thank you Linda, and I don't like him."
"Sure." She replied sarcastically.
We continued to talk about various topics, until I announced that I should be heading back. She took a look at the time and agreed. As I was leaving I heard her speak up.
"Cassie, Alisha, You, and I should go out for lunch sometimes?" She yelled from her porch.
"Sounds like a plan! I will check with the girls." I said over my shoulder.
I left through her gate and heard the front door shut.
**
I was two streets away from brock's house when a hand clasped around my upper arm pulling into the shadows.
I yelped and spun on my heel to face the person my eyes adjusted to the figure and they widened a fraction, "Trent? What do you want?"
"I want you to tell your friend Chase to give me my diamonds back." He harshly whispered.
"Get them back yourself." I snapped back.
I went to walk away when I was yanked back and he ground out, "He better give them back Melody."
"What has this got to do with me!?" I screamed.
He cruelly laughed, "Oh Melody, ask Chase that."
