Melody's POV
I inhaled a shaky breath and look up at Chase's blazing blue eyes. I looked down and tried to free myself from his grip.
"No. One." I spoke in a whisper.
Lies.
"Melody. Who. Is. Trent." He spoke every syllable with a pleading tone.
I looked over to see Alisha and Cassie's eyes. I glared at them, who told him? I snatched my arm from his hand and stormed over to the girls.
I slammed my hands on the desk, "Who told him about Tre-." I held back a sob, I can't say his name.
"Melody, it wasn't any of us." Alisha stated calmly.
I scowled, "It had to be one of you's."
"It was Jedd." Chase stepped in.
"How does he know Tre-."
The memories hit me like a train. I stiffened and closed my eyes letting one tear fall. With that Alisha stood straight up and hugged me tightly while Cassie ran up to the counter asking for my favourite flavour of ice cream. I clutched the fabric of Alisha shirt and my legs lost its balance.
I let out a cry and Alisha cooed in my ear, "It's okay. It's okay."
I felt myself being pulled out of Alisha's arms and encased in strong ones. I felt a light kiss on my forehead.
"Melody. I won't press you, but you are going to have to tell me." Chase muttered in my ear. I nodded and squeezed him. I don't care if it is Chase. I let out a strangled sob. He held onto my lower back and rubbed it soothingly.
"Melody. I have ice cream." Cassie spoke loudly. I pulled away from the hug and went to Cassie.
I probably look dead right now.
"Hey, Trent is not here. If he was I would probably tackle him over the counter." Cassie said seriously.
That is what made me break out in a laugh and wrapping my arms around her. She placed the ice cream down and wrapped her arm around me. I sat down with a smile.
Even when I am at my worse these girls make me smile.
That is what I love about this friendship. They always make me laugh and grin during very bad times. I looked at Chase to see him staring at me with a puzzled look in his eyes.
I sighed and put a hand through my hair. I saw Alisha and Cassie nod as if to say that I can go.
I stood up and brushed past Chase, "Okay."
He had a solemn look on his face and walked beside me. Once we walked into the cool night air he led me to his car. I felt the chill of the air wrap around me like a blanket. I shivered and rubbed my arms. Chase opened the passenger side of his car and I slipped in the vechile.
I don't know where we are going but it doesn't matter. I saw him pull his grey hoodie over his head and hand it to me.
"Your cold." He spoke in a husky voice.
I grinned up at him, "You care?"
He rolled his eyes a small smile playing on his lips, "Whatever."
He jogged over to the other side and put the keys into ignition as I put the hoodie on. His cologne made its way to my nose.
He smells so good.
His hands were smoothly placed onto the black leather steering wheel. He reversed out of the parking lot and drove down the street.
