The Café
****
Melody's POVI was walking down the the café, last night Linda gave me the address of the café and here I am wandering down Warndale streets in a white beanie curly hair and a white and black spotty dress. My black heels keep clacking against the ground annoyingly. I am wearing this because after Linda's and I's talk we decided on looking at the stores she was talking about.
I finally reached my destination and opened the shops doors spotting Linda immediately. I skipped down to the table she chose to sit at. It was near the window but close enough to the counter. I slid onto my seat and looked up at her.
"Hey! You look amazing by the way." Linda complimented.
"Thank you. So do you I love your outfit." I responded with. She wore a maroon skater skirt with a white tight crop top with leather jacket. I don't know what shoes but by the sound of it was heels.
"Thank you. Now. I was pondering last night and came up with a good idea now do you trust me?" She asked.
I looked at her and thought about it for a second. I mean she does seem really nice and she is helping me out. I looked up at her and simply replied to her with, "Yes. Why?"
She started fidgeting in her seat and her voice became higher from excitement, "Well. We could share a store together since you wanted to start up a bakery ,and I want to sell vintage items. I mean it would be perfect! And unusual but people would love that. We could be called the Delights because vintage items are delights and so is sweet and the foods you would cook. If it is not a good idea you can tell me but I just love it don't you?"
I looked at her amusedly and assessed my options. I mean it would be a good idea but I would have to get to know her more to fully put my trust in her. Why not go for it?
"Sure." I said beaming.
"Really?" Linda said clapping her hands excitedly.
"Yeah. Why not right?" I said like it was nothing, "But I will have to get to know you more and we would have to work all of the financial work out and where to place everything and the interior."
"Oh, of course we would have to have meetings but let's just see if we can get a store first." Linda said assertively. I nodded as we made our way out of the café.
We made our way to the first store Linda mentioned. We entered the shop and was immediately approached by happy faces.
"Hello dear." An elderly woman greeted.
"Hello, we heard that this store was for sale?" Linda questioned.
"Oh yes! It is! What time would you like an appointment to show you around?" The woman replied.
"Oh.." Linda trailed off looking at me unsure.
"Oh as soon as possible as long it is a Saturday or Sunday." I answered knowing Linda wouldn't have any classes and neither would I.
"Follow me." The woman said.
I smiled and we followed behind her, to the back of the shop. We entered a room with papers stacking up on a desk. The woman wandered over to her desk and sat down glancing at her papers.
"I can fit you ladies in next Saturday at 12:40pm. Is that a good time?" The lady looked up at us.
We took one glance at each other and both said, "Yes."
"Okay. Is that all?" She spoke.
"Oh... Uh yes it is. Thank you." I replied with.
We left the store beaming and I looked at Linda, "Well that went surprisingly well."
"I thought we weren't going get an appointment this quickly." Linda joked.
"I know! Weird right?" I smiled at her.
"Yeah well cya Melody!" Linda waved walking in the opposite direction.
"Cya Linda! I will text you tomorrow after my lecture for planning." I said waving good bye.
I skipped in the other direction and down two streets where I can see my apartment block come into view. I crossed the street and went straight for the elevator.
I stepped in and clicked floor two. The doors were about to shut fully when a hand stopped it. I screamed when a very exhausted Chase entered the elevator. The doors sliding close after him.
"Hey." He sounded out of breathe.
"Hi? What are you doing here?" I looked at him incredulously.
"Oh. I thought we could play a prank on your friends to get them back and was going to come over to talk to you about it." He scratched the back of his neck nervously.
I leaned on one of the poles in the elevator, "Okay? So what do you wanna do?"
I saw a smirk grow on Chase's face and he looked at me with an evil glint in his striking blue eyes. He is so hot. Stop thinking that.
I raised my eyebrows as if to say 'well hurry up'. He shook his head and said, "Sorry but it is a surprise."
"Why can't you just give me the deats?" I asked. I realised what I said and I blushed hard.
Chase burst out laughing, "Deats? Deats!"
He bent over holding his stomach, I rolled my eyes and mumbled, "Shut up."
He looked at me with emotions flickering over his face, "What?" I asked.
"Nothing." He shook his head.
"Okay?" I looked at him confused.
He shook his head, "Deats."
I let our a groan and stomped my foot as the elevator doors slid open.
Now what is this prank?
